Kabbalistic Explanation for Earthquakes

Earthquakes are defined by Wikipedia as the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves. At the Earth's surface, earthquakes manifest themselves by vibration, shaking and sometimes displacement of the ground. The vibrations may vary in magnitude. Earthquakes are caused mostly by slippage within geological faults and also by other events such as volcanic activity, landslides, mine blasts, and nuclear tests. The underground point of origin of the earthquake is called the focus. The point directly above the focus on the surface is called the epicenter. Earthquakes by themselves rarely kill people or wildlife. It is usually the secondary events that they trigger, such as building collapse, fires, tsunamis (seismic sea waves) and volcanoes that are actually the human disaster. Many of these could possibly be avoided by better construction, safety systems, early warning and planning. Some of the most significant earthquakes in recent times include:

The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake, the third largest earthquake recorded in history, registering a moment magnitude of 9.1-9.3. The huge tsunamis triggered by this earthquake killed at least 229,000 people.

The 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami registered a moment magnitude of 9.0. The death toll from the earthquake and tsunami is over 13,000, and over 12,000 people are still missing.

The 8.8 magnitude February 27, 2010 Chile earthquake and tsunami cost 525 lives.

The 7.9 magnitude May 12, 2008 Sichuan earthquake in Sichuan Province, China. Death toll at over 61,150 as of May 27, 2008.

The 7.7 magnitude July 2006 Java earthquake which also triggered tsunamis.

The 6.9 magnitude 2005 Azad Jammu & Kashmir and KPK province Earthquake which killed or injured above 75,000 people in Pakistan.

Please note the difference in number of killed has nothing to do with the size of the quake. It depends on the relationship of the epicenter to human habitation. Also note the suggestion that deaths can be avoided by additional human involvement with "better construction," etc. This is quite true but not without conscious human involvement.

The Kabbalah perceives earthquakes differently than what is described above. An earthquake should never happen. This is because it is natural for the earth to expand since the earth represents a desire to receive. This expansion would be orderly like the recent measurement recorded by NASA of the earth to the moon distance. This distance became smaller by approximately ¼ inch per year. Why? The NASA scientists concluded that the earth was growing larger by this amount. This is correct. According to Kabbalah the earth should grow larger representing a growth of the desire to receive of all of mankind.

If the tectonic plates grow at a universal rate why do we have an earthquake? It is not because the tectonic plates are pushing against each other. It is due to the influence of mankind's selfish desires which cause the plates to grow at different rates which then slip and slide against each other. This is the reason for earthquakes.

In the Parasha of Korach in the Torah we see Moshe caused the first recorded earthquake. The Kabbalists teach that human consciousness can stop earthquakes from happening.

I was present when the Kabbalists Rav Berg announced on the Shabbat Korach that once a year on Shabbat Korach we have a possibility to stop earthquakes and all natural disasters. We can do this through unified consciousness to do so during the reading of the Torah portion of Korach on Shabbat Korach. He proceeded to have the reader stop the reading at the moment of the earthquake in the Torah story. He instructed the congregation to pray to stop natural disasters especially earthquakes since we lived in California.

At the end of the Reading he announced that his higher self and his guides told him the prayer was accepted and there would not be any earthquakes in Calfifornia. Please remember that this year was the period that both Nostradamus and another seer in the 1920's both predicted that California would fall into the sea from a huge earthquake. Rav Berg told us it would not happen and there would not be another earthquake in California.

The next Sunday morning there was a 7.8 earthquake in San Bernardino Riverside area of California. It actually was a double earthquake one which immediately followed the other in slightly different locations.

Some people called Rav Berg and accused him of misleading them. His response was laughter. He said how would you know that what I said was true if there was no earthquakes. This one of this magnitude should have produced some damage and some deaths. How many people died? Zero died. How much damage occurred- exactly $1000 in broken glass. There truly was no earthquake, and that is open and available to us each year to stop all earthquakes each Shabbat Korach. This eliminating earthquakes will last for a year if our prayers are accepted.

This page is currently under additional construction as more knowledge is revealed about earthquakes and their cause.
