Greetings! This weeks Parasha is Beshalach! Beshalach means "sent out". This Shabbat is called Shabbat Shirah! There are many amazing events in this portion. Many of them are concealed. Lets start with one we usually look at. It is a revealed secret and very clear. It points us to the essence of the Parasha. There are 116 verses in the Parasha. There are two codes words given to us by the Sages. They are Yad Emunah which means the Hand of Faith or Belief. The other code word is Snaaha spelled Samek, Nun, Aleph, Hay. There is no meaning in Hebrew but in Aramaic it means Hate, or enemy and sometimes is translated as the specific Hater of Israel. The Hater of Israel is the Satan. When overcomes the Satan one connects to the revelation of light that is represented by the Song of the Sea. The list of events from this Parasha are the following: 1. Why does God not take the Nation on the path through the Philistine Nation? 2. Why does God tell Moshe "Why are you calling to me?" Chapter 14 Verse 15. Please tell me when someone needs help who should they cry to God or Man? 3. Chapter 14 vs 19,20, and 21. This is the only time in the whole Tanach that there are 3 verses each with 72 Letters. The Zohar explains that these verses conceal the 72 Names of God as well as the 72 Names from the Tzadikim. To learn more Look at the attached pages which has a matrix of 8 columns and 9 rows. These are the 72 Names of God which Moshe used to split the Sea. This is the answer to question 2. Please excuse my digression at this point. This is not a sales pitch but an attempt to give you some information. The Kabbalist teach us to scan the 72 Name chart each day along with the saying of the Ana Bekoach each day. Chapter 15 Verses 1-19 is the song of the sea. It is written in the scroll in an unusual manner. Most people see the verses as triplets. Yet there is also another Triple. So that these two columns actually form a modified Star of David which is really the "Shield of David". Or our protection shield. 19 verses represents the 19 year cycle to the Jewish Calendar. 6.After the Parting of the Sea which is considered a Mikva (cleansing) for the Nation, per the Zohar, The people were put through the test of the Sotah which is a test associated with Adultery. This was to verify that there were no corrupt people participating in the Matan Torah which comes next week in the Portion of Yitro. 7.The section of Manna which has a tradition in itself. This is also a strong protection. 8. Moshe brings water from the Rock. 9. The eternal war against Amalek. Amelek has the same Gematria as Safek - 240. Safek means doubt. Amelek is the nation that represents the energy of doubt. The essence of this portion is Certainty. Each of the items listed above represents aspects of combating doubt and connecting to certainty. The Torah teaches that this is a world of perfect truth and justice. Every person who does good receives good in return? Every person who does evil receives evil in return? These statements are true. When one has this connection to the consciousness of certainty then one can manifest the energy of each of the 72 Names of God in one's life. I would like to point you to the Holiday Tu B'Shvat which takes place on Sunday night February 8 and Monday February 9. Many people have heard of the Holiday of Trees as it has come to be known. Less people have heard of the Kabbalistic Seder for Tu B'Shvat. Almost no one knows that during your connection to Tu B'Shvat you can use one of the 72 Names of God - #37 Aleph Nun Yood to enhance your connection. This word spells the word Ani which means I. It is used as a vaccine or an antidote to the essence of I which is known as the ego. The ego seperates us from HaShem. Reducing our ego allows us to get closer to HaShem. By meditating on this name on the day of Tu B'Shvat makes for a stronger connection. Why? The holiday is usually related to trees. Not plants in general but trees. Trees can grow to heights of 300 or more feet. What is the essence of a tree that allows it to grow that tall. The essence of a tree is the ability to go against gravity. Gravity is an energy force that represents the desire to receive for oneself alone. Trees have a force within them that allows them to grow against gravity even to heights of 300 or 400 feet. This Holiday of Tu B'Shvat is really about connecting to the energy that goes against the desire to receive for oneself alone or selfishness. This is the Kabbalistic reason why there is a New Year for Trees. A deeper connection can be had through the meditation on the name Aleph Nun Yood. By rearranging the letters to be Aleph Yood Nun Sofit (Ain - Nothing or No Thing) one can eliminate the ego or subsum the ego to be nothing which allows us to be ONE with HaShem.
