Week of January 23, 2010 Shabbat Beshalach 15 Shevat ??? , 5770 | |

The Name of the Parasha is Beshalach. I strongly recommend that you reread last years email for Beshalach. This portion has so many secrets that this email would be too long if i mention them again. This Shabbat is called "Shabbat Shira" which means Sabbat Song. We sing many songs on each Shabbat, both during our meals, during our prayers, and just because we are serene with the energy of Shabbat. So why do we have this special name? In the Zohar there is a lengthy discussion about Songs. Are they male or female? Did you ever wonder about that question? What is a male Song and what is a female Song? A male song transfers energy down through the worlds. A female song sends energy up through the spiritual worlds just like the Kabbalistic concept of Female Waters. Female Waters are our positive actions that awaken the flow of beneficence into the world. The physical reason for this Shabbat to be called Shabbat Shira is because the "Song of the Sea" is written in it. Of course you are welcome to constantly speak about the physical reason for this Shabbat to be called Shabbat Shira. I choose to pursue true cause and not be satisfied with answers based on the physical. One reason for this Shabbat to be called "Shabbat Shira" is that it is only with Joy and Happiness called Song can we utilize the Song of the Sea to manifest our desires with miracles. This Shabbat is also the Holiday of Tu B'Shvat. The new Year for Trees. There are 2 words for Tree Etz and Elan. When looking at dictionaries in Hebrew there is no difference between these words yet Kabbalisticly these are 2 different words with different meanings. Elan is only used 3 times in the Tanach. Once in the Parasha of Toldot refering to the father of Esav's first wife Judith.Once in Chapter 4 of the book of Daniel and once again in Daniel spelled incompletely (without the Yood). The Gematria of Elan is 91 just like the integrated Names of Adonai (65) and the 4 Letter Name Yood Kay Vav Kay (26). Also the word Amen has the same Gematria of 91. The word Elan, when used in all 3 places, is referring to the time of Mashiach and after Mashiach. In Aramaic Etz has the meaning of pole as well as tree. A pole is something we climb. That is essence of the meaning throughout the Tanach when the word Etz is used. It is referring to the 2 Tree's in the Garden of Eden. The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge Tov V Rah (generally translated as Good and Evil). These 2 are actually 1 Tree that are seperated until we unify them. These are actually poles that we climb step by step to get closer to HaShem. The nature of trees is to go against Gravity (the desire to receive for oneself alone). That is why trees grow to just tall heights. We hope that this understanding will help you connect to the energy of the New Year for Trees that occurs in the month of Shvat and this year occurs with the support of the energy of Shabbat. This is a gift from HaShem. There are 58 spaces in this Parasha. Nun Chet is the spelling of the Name Noach and its Shoresh is comfort in Hebrew and it means easy in Aramaic. The secret is revealed when one reverses the order of the letters. Then the word becomes Chain which means Grace and also represents the essence of Chochmat Nestar which means concealed wisdom. When we learn (using the concealed wisdom of the Torah) to Sing the Song of the Sea properly we can bring comfort into our lives. Lets develop this number a little more. 58 is 45 plus 13. There are 45 spaces within the "Song of the Sea" which is written in an unusual fashion in the scroll. There are 13 spaces within the balance of the Parasha. 13 relates to unity. 45 is the gematria of the word Man (Adam). This word, we are taught, includes both half's of the soul - Male and Female. Therefore this is teaching us that concealed within this Parasha is the unity of Man (Male and Female). Please take the opportunity to look at this column (which has the Song of the Sea) in the scroll. It starts with a Hay rather than a Vav (Most Columns start with a Vav) and therefore is part of the phrase Bet (In)Yood Hay (The upper Worlds) is his Name. There are only 6 columns that tradition teaches us do not start with a Vav and they relate to this phrase. When one looks at this column it appears to be in 3 parts. There are 5 lines above the Song of the Sea, and 5 lines below the Song of the Sea. Most people don't see it because it goes so fast and we do not recognize that there are 3 other types of spaces within the Song of the Sea. So we actually have the 6 points of the Mogen David Star. This is not just a pretty looking design but actually acts as a protection shield which is what Mogen means. The term is Shield of David and David is a code word for manifestation. By looking at this column/star we connect to the protection shield available to us. The essence of this Parasha, is certainty. Our tradition teaches that the Mashiach will be born in the month of AV and will manifest in the month of Shevat. Lack of Certainty is the only thing that prevents us from bringing our personal Mashiach. In addition to hearing the Torah this Shabbat there is a Kabbalistic tool of integrating your name (spelled in Hebrew) with the Aramaic word Vaday spelled Vav Dalet Aleph Yood which means certainty. Please write to me at yeshshem@hotmail.com to receive this tool for yourself. Donations are requested but not necessary. The ultimate secret about Certainty is the splitting of the Sea which only occurs when one has certainty in the creator. The song of the sea represents the manifestation of the 72 Names of God whih are revealed just prior to the Song of the Sea. Only with certainty can one manifest these Names fully in ones life. This is what we are to learn in this week from this Parasha and if we do we will "see" the manifestation of miracles next week. The week of Yitro, the week of the revelation of the LIght of God in our world. Interested? Please look at the 2 verses from Chapter 14 Verse 30 and 31. There is a tremendous secret in these two verses that can sweeten your Tikun. "Sweeten Your Tikun" is a concept of bringing Chesed or Mercy into the judgment of our Tikune. The Kabbalists teach that "prior to scanning or saying the 72 Names say these two verses with Simcha (joy and happiness)". This will bring Mercy into your individual Tikunim and make them "easier". For those of you who are feeling sad or down on a particular day use this opportunity each day to change your Kavenah to be Happy. Remember, You can be in control of your own mind and consciousness!
