Week of June 26, 2011 Shabbat Chukat and Rosh Chodesh,30 Sivan, 5771 | |
---|---|
This week the Parasha is named Chukat. Chukat is a Hebrew word that means law or regulation. This word usually refers to a law given by Hashem that man is unable to understand on a logical basis. There are 3 levels of laws that the Torah gives to man. They are laws that man would divise on his own like laws against murder and rape. Laws that he would not normally devise by his society but he is able to understand these laws. An example of these kind of laws are inheritance laws. The third kind of law - the Chok- is like the law of Para Aduma (Red Heifer). These laws man would not devise on his own and also he is unable to understand the full depth of these laws. The essence of the laws of the Para Aduma (Red Heifer) on the physical level is to remove the impurity of death. This impurity is the strongest impurity in the world. It is the consciousness that is the farthest from the creator. The hearing of this Parasha twice a year removes this impurity and begins the process of the resurrection of the dead. All of the stories in this Parasha, 1) do not go through the land of Edom,2) the battle against Ammon, and 3) the battle against Og all are relating to the process of the Resurrection of the Dead. During this reading meditate on manifesting the Resurrection of the Dead. When sufficient people are doing this meditation we will acheive this level of consciousness and death will be swallowed up forever. Do you want that? Or are you comfortable with your life the way it is? PLEASE NOTE: Shabbat Chukat is also Shabbat Rosh Chodesh Tammuz. Our Rosh Chodesh control connection will be Saturday evening July 2, 2011 at 10 PM PDT. One can attend by telephone conference by dialing 213-289-0500 pincode 911904# or by video conference which is First Come First Serve RSVP. Only 4 additional locations available. You must be connected with me on the program oovoo. If you are interested contact me by email at yeshshem@hotmail.com. Here is a link for a cartoon summary of the Parasha. We hope you enjoy it. Torah Readings: The reading of the Parasha is Numbers Chapter 19 Verse 1 to Chapter 22 Verse 1. The total number of Verses is 87. This is ?? in Hebrew. This word translates as "Gold" or Fine God in Hebrew. What do people value? Gold or the removal of death? i hope you understand the relationship. 87 is the Gematria of Anochi (the formal form of I) when it is fully spelled with a Vav. There are 3 code words from the Sages. ?????? which can be translated as "Teach them to donate from unity". ????? which translates as "His sea is God" which hints at a level of consciousness of the creator being above the level of fullfillment or light of the creator. ??? which translates as "My strength". This hints at the idea that death weakens the creator and we must work to keep him strrong by not allowing death to overcome us as it has every generation since Adam. The number of words in the Parasha is 1245 spelled ????. This word can be translated as "deceive one". This is referring to the Resurrection of the Dead which it will be necessary for us to decieve the Angel of Death in order to manifest the resurrection of the dead. Sometimes in the Torah the Ressurection is referred to as Techiat Hamaytim which translates as the Resurrection of the Dead. Sometimes it is referred to with a Hebrew Phrase Belah Hamavet Hanetzach that translates Death will be swallowed up Forever. While they truly have different meanings they are used interchangeably referring to the Resurrection of the Dead and also a final cleansing that removes the impurity of the death. In this email they are used interchangeably to indicate the process that we are trying to achieve that indicates The End of Death Forever. Maftir: The Maftir is Chapter 21 Verses 34 and 35 and also Chapter 22 Verse 1. This is 3 Verses and 1 space. We have spoken about these numbers before. Spaces: There are 10 spaces in this Parasha. This refers to the 10 Sephirot which will all be needed to Resurrect the Dead. Haftara: This week the Shabbat is also Rosh Chodesh. The Haftara is referred to as Haftara Rosh Chodesh. The Haftara is Isaiah Chapter 66 Verse 1 to 24 and then verse 23 is repeated. This is a total of 25 Verses and 4 spaces. The 25 connect to the 25 hours of Shabbat and the 4 spaces connect to the four worlds. Written and Spoken Verses: The Parasha has 1 word written and spoken differently. It is in Chapter 21 Verse 32. In the pronounced spelling it means "He drove out" and in the written version it means "He possessed". The midrash explains the reason for this change. This is referring to the war against Ammon. Moshe initially sent spies but this was unnecessary as the Ammonites withdrew at the instigation of God and then the Children of Israel just possessed the land of the Ammonites. This is why we have this word spoken and written differently. The Haftara also has 1 word written and spoken differently. It is Chapter 66 Verse 17. It is the word that means "one". The written form is male and the spoken form is the female form of the word. This is to indicate it applies to both men and women who make mistakes that must be corrected through Tshuvah. Large or Small Letters and Dots: There are no large or small letters in the Haftara or the Parasha. There is a dot over the letter Resh in the word Asher in Verse 21:30. When we have 1 dot over a letter it indicates that the word can be read as just the remaining letters. In this case the word Aish or fire. The Baal HaTurim explains that the Ammonites who had been the Head Nation up till now lost that position when their capital was burned in fire. Columns: All columns start with a Vav. There are 2 full columns and 2 partial columns in the Parasha. As promised, this year i will give some insights into the Haftarot. The Haftara is relating to the Tshuvah that must be done by the nation. How does that relate to the removal of Death? I think that is obvious. We must all do tshuvah for the things we have done incorrectly so that we can be cleansed sufficiently that Death can be brought to an end. The essence of the Parasha is Mind Over Matter. Where does that come from? It comes from Chapter 20 Verse 1 to 13. As you know i try to understand the meaning hinted at in the number of verses dealing with a subject. In this case the understanding is easy. 13 verses are hinting at the consciousness of unity. What does unity have to do with Mind Over Matter? God told Moses to "speak to the rock" and water would flow from the rock. Moses hit the rock and water did flow from the rock. The only difference between these statements is the word "speak" and "Hit". Both of these words deal with manifestation in the physical world. Yet hitting is something we do with our hands. speaking is somethihg we do with our mouths. Our mouth is in our heads. Our hands start at our shoulders and are part of our bodies. Why is it necessary for our Minds to control our bodies? The answer to this question will begin to reveal the secret to Mind Over Matter. I am not going to answer the question. I am going to remind you that Head and Body are unified within our soul. Why do our mental fantasies not always manifest? Because there is disunity between certainty and our belief's. All of these comments are suggesting to you paths that will lead you to Mind Over Matter. Good Luck! Shabbat Shalom chanoch P. S.
