Greetings! Welcome to the new year of REVEALED WISDOM and also to the new format for our weekly emails. Please realize that there are many comments we have made which reveal wisdom in our previous emails. It is worth the look! לך לך Lech Lecha Summary 5772 The Parasha of Lech Lecha which translates as "Go for yourself" or "Go into yourself" or " You: Go", introduces the characters of Avram and Sarai. Metaphorically the Zohar says Avram represents the soul as it descends from the spiritual to the physical world, while Sarai represents the body waiting for that soul. This parasha is about the descent of the soul into the body. On the physical level, the story is about Avram and Sarai leaving Haran and going to Canaan and then leaving again to go to Egypt, then returning to Canaan. There is also the war of 9 Kings which was promoted by Nimrod only one of the Kings involved. (The midrash teaches that Nimrod promoted the war to kill Avram because his teachings went against what Nimrod wanted. Nimrod wanted to be King of the World and control all of the people while Avraham taught there was one God who created all people who were brothers and sisters.) The story continues witht the seperation of Lot (Avram's Nephew) from Avram. Metaphorically Lot represents the evil inclination and therefore truly can not seperate from Avram completely until the final Tikune of our world and the coming of Mashiach. This is why Lot is saved from the evil 4 Kings which really are just the one King that was at war with Avram, Nimrod from the Tower of Babel notoriety. The story continues with many promises by God and also many agreements between Avram and God. Finally, the birth of Ismael is told along with the ultimate agreement between Avram and God called Brit Milah or circumcism. Now Avram and Sarai can receive new names because they have reached the correction of their previous levels of consciousness. (The act of circumcision corrected their level of consciousness according to the commentators). The Parasha ends with the circumcision of Avraham's household but not before Sarah (formerly Sarai) receives a Promise of having nations rise from her and Kings of Peoples will also rise from her. The essence or energy of the Parasha Lech Lecha has the energy of Chesed which is Loving Kindness. This Parasha is always read in Cheshvan around the Hilula of Methusalach Ben Chanoch. Methusalach is the longest living man in history. He lived 969 years. It is difficult to understand how Chesed can be received in the month of Mar Cheshvan (bitter cheshvan). It is exactly this paradox that helps us understand the energy we are receiving during this week. What is the paradox? The bitterness of the month of Cheshvan vs loving kindness and mercy. Let me try to explain this paradox. Methusalach lived the longest of any living being. His Hilulah (Death anniversary) is the 11th of Cheshvan which is the day the flood was supposed to start. The flood did not start until 7 days later on the 17th of Cheshvan so that the Shivah period of mourning for Methusalach would not be made more difficult. This is chesed, yet it is dealing with a sad subject, the end of his life. Last week during the reading of Noach we received the vaccine against floods. This week we receive the energy of loving kindness. Remember the adage: the cure always comes before the disease. What is too much loving kindness? It is a flood of Chesed. We have received the protection from the flood (the disease) so that we can now receive the pure energy of loving kindness. This is Parasha Lech Lecha - going for yourself. Another energy involved with this Paraasha of Lech Lecha is connecting with the idea of Trust in Hashem. Next week we will receive the higher level of certainty. This week we receive the lower level of Trust in Hashem. When Avram leaves Haran it is because he trusts Hashem. When he goes after Lot it is because He Trusts in Hashem. When he returns all of the material items won in the war it is because He Trusts in Hashem. When he agrees to circumcize himself and his family it is because He Trusts in Hashem. When we hear these words we receive the essence of what does it mean to Trust in Hashem. Of course one must be open to receive this energy first. Are you open to receive Trust in Hashem? A Deeper Kabbalistic Analysis of the Word Lech Lecha Lech Lecha has a gematria of 100. 100 represents a perfect number in Kabbalah. It is 10 Sephirot times 10 Sephirot. This is what life is supposed to be about - LOVING KINDNESS or Chesed. Avraham is a channel for this energy. This parasha introduces Avraham so it is introducing Loving Kindness into our world. The letter Chaf has two shapes. One is referred to as a final shape. There are 5 final letters (shapes of letters). This is called Mantzpach after these 5 letters. Mem, Nun, Tzadi, Pey, and Chaf. The Chaf has both the gematria value of 20 and when in the final shape form can be either 20 or 500. The same is true of all of the final letters. Mem 600 or 40; Nun is 700 or 50; Pay is 800 or 80; Tzadi is 900 or 90. These shapes provide two different gematria when they are used. They always are used at the last letter in a word. This teaches that at the end of our world cycle (when Mashiach comes) any word with a final form will have its essence manifest differently based on the different gematria of the final form. This applies to both Lech and Lecha. The final letter gematria is 1060. Final letter gematria indicates that when Mashiach starts to manifest the final letter gematria will become more prevalent as the essence of this word. There are 2 aspects connecting to 1060. One is the word Mishkan the Tabernacle in the desert. In essence the place of Hashem. The other is "Hidden Intelligence" or Nestar Sechel. There is another way to understand the gematria of Lech Lecha. Because it is 2 words spelled the same, the final letter gematria is 530 times two. 530 is the gematria from the famous verse in Psalms "when i walk through the valley of death. . ." the end of that verse "Thou art with me" has a gematria of 530. Also the word Knesset which means congregation or assembly has a gematria of 530. What does this teach me? In the Torah the phrase Knesset Israel is used to describe the congregation of Israel and refers to both Men and Women. This teaching implies that Hashem will be with the Knesset Israel (Congregation of Israel) during the end time travails (difficulties) of Mashiach (usually called the Birthpangs of Mashiach). In essence, during the reading of Lech Lecha we are receiving, today before it is built, the energy of the completed third Temple. What will you do with this energy? The hearing of the reading of Lech Lecha assists us in internal evaluation of ourselves. It helps connect us to Hashem through meditation as the Parasha frequently refers to Avraham speaking to God and God speaking to Avraham. When will you start meditating using the Hebrew letters? This is the teaching from Abraham's Sefer Yetzirah that teaches us to experience the creator. When will you start meditating using the Hebrew Letters? A Deeper Look at the promise to Sarah that came through Avraham from Hashem Here is the verse: וברכתי אתה וגם נתתי ממנה לך בן וברכתיה והיתה לגוים מלכי עמים ממנה יהיו And I will bless her, and moreover I will give thee a son of her; yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be of her.' The first letters are: ואונמלבוולמעמי The gematria is 327 which connects to the Hebrew word meaning dusk or the time of sunset. Dusk is the time that many men pray the Mincha prayer for Friday and then start the Kabbalat (receiving) Shabbat prayers. This is a common metaphor for the coming of Mashiach at the "dusk" period of History. This would indicate that this promise will manifest towards the equivalent of evening in the historical record or when the Mashiach is manifesting. Our tradition teaches that we have only 228 years left before the Mashiach will manifest with the force of the Armagedden War. Of course we can bring him early if we do the right actions. The teaching above reinforces this idea that Mashiach will manifest towards the end of the period and this is referred to as evening or dusk. The final letters are: יהמיהכנההמימהו The gematria is 251 which connects to teacher. The Mashiach will be our teacher when he comes at the end time period. It is clear that this prophecy will come true during the end of times. Now what does it mean "Kings of people shall be of her?" In my opinion this prophecy from the Torah has not yet manifested. Perhaps the descendants of Isaac who come from Sarah will be the leaders of all of the nations, when Mashiach manifests. This could be true, due to the 10 lost tribes. No one knows who is a Jew or who has a Jewish soul. This would mean that this prophecy would be coming True as all positive prophecies must.
