Greetings! How is your self cleaning progressing? Have you made the Blessing for the Trees in Nissan? Do you have a copy of the Bercat HaChamah - The Blessing of the Sun - A once in 28 year connection? If not write to chanoch_7@hotmail.com This weeks portion is called Tzav and the translation is Command!. Yet the Zohar explains that to do any action including a Mitzvah because it is Commanded is considered Avodah Zarah - Idol Worship! Isn't that a surprise. We have so many times in the Torah that the word Tzav is used (including this weeks Portion and the word Mitzvah itself) and the Zohar tells us it is Idol Worship. How do we reconcile our simple sense with this deep insight from the Zohar? Lets look at the Parasha. There are at least 3 unique things within this Parasha. 1) There are 96 verses in the Parasha and the code word is 96. 2) There is a small Mem in the word Mokda (Chapter 6 verse 2). and 3) We reach the middle of the Torah when based on the number of verses. It is reccomended that the Reader pause after reading verse - Chapter 8 Verse 7 - to allow the Congregation to Meditate and connect to the energy of the Central Column which is the balance between Sharing and Receiving. It is the spiritual job of the Jewish Nation to maintain balance within HaShem's Creation. This connection helps us acheive that. We pause at the place where we have completed reading a total of 2912 verses. 2912 is 2800 plus 112. 2800 is the Hebrew word Coach (Gematria 28) times 10 times 10. This represents a complete vessel for the energy of POWER. 112 was discussed in earlier emails. It is the name Yabok - Yood Bet Koof. It represents the unity between all three lower worlds. Asiya - Action - our physical World; Yetzirah - Formation - our Heavens; and Briah - Creation - The spirtual world above our Heaven. This is the place from which our energy is channeled. When we unify these three worlds we bring the Light of Hashem into the physical world. When we cross the 2912 verses we are connecting to the POWER of UNITY which is balance in our consciousness. It is the essence of the Central Column. The small Mem in the word Mokda - which means "on the flame" has a clear message. This word can be read as Mem - which means from; Vav - which means "And"; Koof Dalet Hay - which is the Shoresh or root of the word "to bow or curtsy". By being a small Mem it brings focus (also one of the words within Mokda) on the idea that when we do an action that is based on Commands from other people or even HaShem him/her/it self we have become an effect of that Command and not a Cause of anything. We came into this physical World to be a cause - to be a co creator with HaShem. when we voluntarily give up being a creator we become part of the system that gives us free choice. That part of the system is called "Tree of Life Good and Evil. This leaves us with the question What is the coded meaning behind the word Tzav - Command used so frequently in the Scroll. The Mekubalim teach us that it means "do this action quickly - with alacrity". I hope you do your Mitzvoth with the consciousness of connection and with the consciousness of it being important enough to do it quickly. The Shoresh of the word Mitzvoth is connection - not the more corrupted understanding of the Shoresh of Mitzvoth being Command. Having 96 verses and also having the code word be 96 is unique. It is the only Parasha where this is true. It is bringing focus to the idea of using the essence of this Parasha as a vaccine to protect us from falling to others commands. Especially as we participate in the internal cleansing of preparing for the battles in the coming year. Who is the others in the above sentence? It is none other than our evil inclination - the Tool of the Satan. So what is the essence of this Parasha. It is a vaccine to protect us from falling to the consiousness of the "Other" side by accepting any Command without choosing it as our own. It helps us connect to the Central Column of Balance between Sharing and Receiving so that we transform our Desire to Receive for Oneself alone into the Desire to Recieve in order to share and thereby insure success in our taking control of the wars and battles we will face during the coming year.
