Torah: Parasha Devarim - Deuteronomy - Devarim Chapter 1 Verse 1 to Chapter 3 Verse 22

Haftara: Isaiah Chapter 1 Verses 1 - 27

The essence - energy of Parasha Devarim

The Parasha of Devarim is always read prior to the 9th of Av - Tisha B'Av. Also there is no Zohar on this Parasha although Rabbi Ashlag teaches that the Zohar on Devarim is concealed in the section of Yenuka of Parasha Balak. The rule is What is deeply concealed has the greatest potential revelation of light. So what is the essence of this parasha? It is the ultimate teaching. The parasha is read before Tisha B'Av which is celebrating two things. The destruction of the Temple so that we learn what is this deep cause; and the birth of the Mashiach so that we cal learn what will bring Mashiach. Actually they are caused by the same thing. Human Beings naturally react on the unconscious level with the thought "Better Them than Me". This happens every time someone hears or learns of chaos in someone elses life. The cure is to treat everyone with "Human Dignity". The cure is to stop this reaction and eliminate it from your character traits. The reason for the concealment of the Zohar is clearly that we will transform ourselves when we pull that character trait out of ourselves. This must be done without help. The only aspect of help is to know that it happens and strive to realize this.

Commentary for the year 5777

Parasha Devarim:

Devarim actually is not the first word in the Parasha. The first words of the Parasha are

"Eleh HaDevarim" אלה הדברים

These two words translate literally as "These are the words". They also translate as "Physical World of God" plus "The sea of words". In other words "This sea of words control the physical world".

What is wrong with the current control of the physical world, that it needs different control? The answer is that the current physical world is not complete. The world needs completion by man and HaShem has given His charge to the Children of Israel to complete the world by removing "Hatred for no Reason".

The way to remove this horrible negative energy is for each Child of Israel - spiritual people to remove this energy from within themselves. The tool to accomplish this change within each person is to listen to and activate "this sea of words" known as Devarim.

Listen to is done by hearing the Torah on Shabbat Devarim.

Activate is done through learning the Kabbalah.

Are you doing both?

Zohar Portion of Chok Israel

In our generation it is taught that we will have a difficulty with the time to truly study all 10 levels of Torah. The ARI put together a scheule of daily study that generally takes about 1/2 hour or less except for Friday and many people make that additional time up on Shabbat. This schedule is referred to as Chok L'Israel.

Here are links to the 7 daily studies including an English translation of the Zohar portion that refers to the energy of the day. Each day has a link to the Zohar English translation. This translation needs commentary yet i do not have the time yet so be careful in your own personal reading. there is a hidden agenda in the translation.
