Parasha Emor - "Speaking"

In the Torah

Torah: Parasha Emor - Leviticus Chapter 21 Verse 1 to Chapter 24 Verse 23

Haftara: Ezekiel Chapter 44 Verses 15 - 31

The essence - energy of Parasha Emor

The essence of Parasha Emor is second chances on a physical level or HaShem's Mercy on a spiritual level. It usually falls around the Holidays of Pesach Sheini and Lag B'Omer.

These two Holidays fall near 2/3rds of the way through the Omer period. To learn more about the two holidays and their relationship to each other do a local search on the yeshshem website.

There is a deeper essence to the Parasha of words - Emor. It is the energy of immortality. Immortality is the energy / essence of continuity. There is a verse in Proverbs and also in Psalms that says -paraphrasing - HaShem is close to all who call upon him - all who call him in Truth. These words of truth are HaShem's Names. Thus our sages tell us that immortality will come about through this energy of continuity when we learn to express HaShem's Names properly. This is taught in our classes on the Sefer Yetzirah. It takes learning this class with a teacher.

Shabbat Emor = "Speak".

Parasha Emor always appears in the Readings from the Torah during the period of the Omer. Both are cognate to each other.

The difference in the two words is Emor starts with an Aleph and Omer starts with an Ayin. The letters that are within both words spell the word Mar = bitter and in the reverse order spell the word Ram = elevated. Here are the two words in Hebrew letters:

אמר ־ עמר ־ א מר־ע רם

An alternative translation for Emor is "Unity of Bitterness".

An alternative translation for Omer is "Elevated Vision".

There are other alternative translations as well.

Recognizing the relation between speech - the meaning of Emor; and time - the meaning of Omer - helps us to understand the essence of Parasha Emor.

The essence of the Parasha is the energy of speech which is Malchut and manifestation infused with the energy of time which is Chesed.

We receive the energy to know that death can be removed from the world. Kabbalah teaches that in order to remove death one must know with absolute certainty that death can and will be removed. Without this knowledege the swallowing of death can not be achieved.

Why does Kabbalah teach this?

Kabbalah teaches that everything depends on consciousness. If one does not conceive of something one has no ability to make that happen since the goal never enters the persons mind.

Kabbalah teaches that one can swallow death forever and must also have certainty in that consciousness. When that is achieved it can be manifested. The energy of Emor is to allow this consciousness to enter our consciousness. Learn this well and think about "swallow death forever". This is the minimum we need to do to help manifest Mashiach Ben David.

Thinking like this as we listen to the Reading on Shabbat morning as the Torah is read causes this thought to penetrate your unconscious.

Are you the kind of person who needs to physically see something or are you the kind of person who needs to spiritually see that same thing? Only the person who sees spiritually - thinks about the possibility will be able to see that thing manifest physically. This is the central teaching of Kabbalah - Love Your Neighbor As Yourself".

Are you able to make the connection to "swallowing death forever" from the idea of Chesed - Loving Kindness within the Malhut - Manifestation of the idea?

Do you want help in achieving this consciousness? write an email to yeshshem@hotmail.com and ask for help.

Emor translates as "to speak". In the manner of spelling Emor אמר, in the Torah in this location, represents an infinitive verb. In this spelling the word is a statement "you speak". Who is the "you"?

Before we answer this lets look at the complete spelling of Emor אמור and what the difference means. We will use the following designations to indicate the difference when writing in English. Emor is the complete spelling while Amar is the incomplete spelling in the infinitive.

Why is the letter Vav left off? Kabbalah teaches that the letter Vav is a code for the 6 emotions named Zeir Anpin. Zeir Anpin is the spiritual levels. By leaving off the Vav HaShem is indicating that this parasha is a direct statement to "you" each individual Child of Israel.

Kabbalistically, When we look at Emor letter by letter we have the word for mother connected to the letter Reish. The letter Reish has two sounds and 2 meanings. It is either "Head" or "lack". Mother is a code word for the sefirah of Binah. Raish when meaning Head is a code word for the Sefirah Chochmah. The letter Vav as said represents the level "Zeir Anpin". Thus the word Emor is connecting Chochmah to Binah to Zeir Anpin.

The Amar when viewed letter by letter is Aleph representing the unity of all things. The letters then spell mar which is Hebrew for bittter or in a different order spells ram which is Hebrew for "elevated". This is teaching each and every one of us:

Our speech can either elevate the unity of all things or make all things bitter. Which will you do? When you speak words of Torah you elevate all things. When you speak about mundane things you might elevate but more likely are creating bitterness in all things.

The choice is yours!

The number of Verses in this Parasha

There are 124 Verses in this parasha of Emor. This number is כדק in Hebrew. This word translates as "thin". The code word given to us by the Sages is עוזיאל. This word translates as "My El is Vehemence". I am unclear how this code word relates to the energy of the Parasha.
