Mishpatim משפטים

Parasha Mishpatim is from Exodus Chapter 21 Verse 1 to Chapter 24 Verse 18

The Haftara is from Jeremiah Chapter 34 Verse 8 - 22; Chapter 33:25 - 26.

Essence of Parasha Mishpatim

The various commentaries over the centuries on the Parasha of Mishpatim struggle to discuss slavery as in "Hebrew Slaves working 6 years and going out free in the 7th year", in their generation. Slavery has no relationship to our generation or does it? The modern Kabbalists tell us that our souls have two purposes. One is to be a tool to dispute with Satan in this lifetime. What is that dispute? To do our spiritual work or allow ourselves to be attracted to the physical pleasures. The other purpose of our souls is to connect to the previous lifetime in order to know what that soul body combination did with its lifetime. Without this knowledge we have no real ability to escape from the slavery to our egos or in other words the Satan.

Mishpatim = Laws and Judgments.

On the physical level the parasha lists varius subjects and informs us about the laws and judgments that describe, by example, the laws of cause and effect in the physical world.

Here are a few examples:

1. Laws of slavery especially forcing sexual relations upon a slave.

2. Causing Accidental deaths leads to your own death by accident.

3. Anyone how hits his or her parents causes themselves to die.

4. Physically hurting others causes a financial burden to the person who hurt others.

As students of Kabbalah we can ask why does the Torah spend so much "ink" discussing laws that society would know to create for themselves anyway? The answer relates to the tikune of the generation, in my opinion. Yet we need to remember that each verse in the Tanach applies to each person in each generation, each in its own understanding.

Our Sages indicate that these understandings relate to 4 levels generally - Pshat or Simple - Remez or Hints - Drush or Allegorical - Sod or Secret. These 4 when combining the first letters spell the word Pardes which translates as Garden. When a person learns one of these levels of an individual verses he or she is considered to be studying in the particular rather than the general. When one learns all 4 levels for a particular verse as it applies to themselves in a particuar generation it is considered as if they have entered the Garden of Eden; until they do something that lowers their consciousness.

What is written below is my opinion only.

In earlier generations - like pagan society - the way the laws were created needed the Pshat level in order to change.

In earlier generations - like the Temple Times - the way the laws are interpreted relate to an agricultural society. This is a level of Remez in addition to the Pshat level.

In earlier generations - like the middle ages - The laws are perceived as a competition and the level of Drash in addition to Remez and Pshat.

In this generation - it it necessary to learn the Sod level in addition to the Remez and Pshat since we all were in all of the earlier generations dealing with all the levels. In this generation we need to reveal the Light of the Sod level.

What is written below is a teaching of the Kabbalah.

The Sod level of the Parasha of Mishpatim is all of these laws are dealing with the laws of reincarnation.

The Zohar explains these physical laws and relates them to specific laws of reincarnation. It explains how the Beit Din decides according to the laws of Mishpatim where the soul reincarnates. If you are interested in studying these laws and having a deeper understanding of your current life tasks we have over 200 hours of recording covering this subject on the yeshshem website.

The Sages have answered the question above that we asked. The Torah is not wasting ink. It is telling us the details that we need to know about the secrets of reincarnation that we will need in order to complete our Tikune in the later generations.

These laws were revealed to Moshe and all of Israel at Mount Sinai according to the Sages. We learn this from the Vav that is the first letter in the first verse and first letter in the Parasha. When the first letter is a vav it connects to the previous last verse.

Verse Kabbalistic Analysis: Shemot Chapter 18 Verse 1:

ואלה המשפטים אשר תשים לפניהם

Now these are the ordinances which thou shalt set before them.

WeAleh HaMishpatim Asher TaSim Lifnayhem.

5 words - This number has a connection to the 5 Worlds. Another Hebrew word with this gematria is translated as fog - vapor - mist. This word Aleph Dalet has the meaning of covering or concealing. Thus it is a hint to something concealed in the various laws.

24 Letters connects - to the energy of the 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night. This is the energy of Light and Vessel which we see through the connection of physical laws and laws of reincarnation.

Shiluv Tool: First Letters.

This is my intuitive connection. You need to do this for yourself as well

והאתל

The gematria of the first letters is 442. 442 is the gematria of the phrase BaAl Shem which translates as the master of a Name. 442 is 400 + 42. 42 is a number connected to Creation. 400 represents 400 levels of good and 400 levels of evil. Good is Light and Evil is dark.

The small gematria of the first letters is 19. 19 relates to male and female as well the number of years in the Hebrew calendar cycle.

Shiluv Tool: Final Letters

This is my intuitive connection. You need to do this for yourself as well.

הםרםם

The gematria of these letters is 325. 325 connects to the energy of "saving" or "adversity".

The small gematria of the final letters is 19. See the small gematria of the first letters above.

Please email yeshshem@hotmail.comwith your own meanings to these letters as acronyms. Your meanings will be added to the parasha page along with the attribution unless you request that there not be an attribution posted.

It is important that the above is not misinterpreted. There is only one God and He/She/It is the God of the Children of Israel. Always feel and show respect - fear, awe for God whose Name is

יהוה

Included in this name are all of the attributes that a human being perceives as belonging to HaShem, including Elohim - Shadai - myriads of other Names.

Parasha Mishpatim is usually translated as "Laws". In Hebrew there are 3 categories of laws. One is laws that societies regulate for the benefit of their population. This is Dat דת in Hebrew. One is laws that are clearly logical and / or reasonable according to human logic and understanding. This is Mishpat משפטה in Hebrew. And the third category are laws that make no sense to human beings yet demonstrate a persons acceptance of the Royalty of HaShem. This is Chok in Hebrew - חוק. This parasha is giving us Mishpat type Laws which on the surface we can understand. There is a deeper level to these laws that we also can understand. This deeper level are the laws of Reincarnation. To learn more see the almost 200 hours of class on the Laws of Reincarnation at this link on the yeshshem website.

Please note the Hebrew word for Religion is Dati דתי. There is no word like Dati in the Torah. Also we can interpret this word Dati as "My understandable laws". Remember there is no "religion" in the Torah. There is a recommended path to get closer to HaShem in the Torah.

Without knowing about the deeper level being laws of reincarnation people can start to think that the Torah is old hat and does not belong to them or impact them. This is a totally false understanding. Please learn that every verse is speaking to every person in every generation especially in this generation. Remember what you read in the Torah is HaShem speaking to YOU! These laws of Reincarnation apply to YOU and are given to you with / in HaShem's Mercy so that you will learn how to not reincarnate another time. After all this world is the worst of all worlds; even worse than Gehinom - Hell. This is because in Hell you know what you did incorrectly and why you need to cleanse these mistakes made in our world. In our world it is difficult to find out what mistakes we made in our last lifetime and thus we will be given opportunities to correct these mistakes in this lifetime. It is also true that when we do not correct these mistakes we potentially are sent to Gehinom if we do not fix them.

Number of Verses

There are 118 Verses in this parasha. In Hebrew that is קיח which can be permutated and substitute to mean "a level of Completion of Life".This comes from the Hebrew word for life has a gematria of 18 and the number 100 represents a level of completion since it is 10 Sefirot within 10 Sefirot.

The Sages have given us two code words that relate to the number 118. The two code words are עזיאל and חנני. The first code word is Aziel which has many meanings. The most appropriate is "My strong El." The most inappropriate would be "to my goat". The second code word is Chanani which means "my pardoning". One code word relates to the Sefirah of Gevurah - Judgment; and the other relates to the Sefirah of Chesed - Love / Mercy.
