Parasha Va'Etchanan

In the Torah

Torah: Parasha Ekev - Deuteronomy - Devarim Chapter 7 Verse 12 to Chapter 11 Verse 25

Haftara: Isaiah Chapter 49 Verses 14 - Chapter 51 Verse 3

The essence - energy of Parasha Vaetchanan

The Parasha of Vaetchanan has the second set of Esser Debrot - 10 Utterances or the 10 Statements. Most people call these the 10 Commandments, as Kabbalah teaches this is a big - very large mistake. Thus the essence of this Parasha has the energy of "Connection to HaShem". This comes from the first word and the meaning of that word which is to "plead" meaning or hinting to prayer which is one method of connection to HaShem.

Commentary for the Year 5777

Vaetchanan translates as "and I Pleaded". The questions needs to be asked - who is the I and what is being asked? The following words indicate that the "I" is Moshe and the "ask" is to enter the Land. On another level of gematria the Sages indicate that there is a spiritual custom perhaps a law that if one pleads 516 times for an outcome that it will manifest. This comes from the gemaria of Vaetchanan being 515 and the request was still not answered.

Those events are described as the following:

Elohim said do not eat from the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. If you do you will surely die.

Chava and Adam did eat and did not die.

What did happen is they received and we still receive the "illusion of death".

Kabbalah teaches everything is a function of consciousness. Thus this illusion of death only exists because people think that they will die. As soon as people realize that they do not need to experience the "illusion" of death we can stop experience this illusion.

Of course this must become a significant part of the collective unconsciousness so that it manifests into the collective consciousness.

How does that happen? One of the methods is to hear the ten utterances this coming Shabbat. How do we know this?

In the Parasha of Vaetchanan there is a second set of the Esser Debrot. There are 32 differences betwewn th two different sets of the Esser Debrot. Some of the differences are adding the letterVav, which means "and" to the words of "adultery", "steal", "bear false witness" and "covet". Yet there is not a Vav connected to the word "kill".

Kabbalah teaches that the letter vav is a connection to the Light Source we call the Creator. By not connecting the word Tirsof - kill to the Light Source the Creator is leaving the consciousness of removing the "illusion of death" up to us.ee

This is a difficult consciousness to achieve because death and killing is so prevalent in our world of illusion. Yet remember that it is only the body that dies and not the soul. The soul is immortal. When we can stop referring to ourselves as this body of ours and realize that we are the soul that is immortal we can remove this "illusion of death"

The hearing of the Torah this Shabbat once you have the knowledge from our discussion above will help remove the consciousness that people have to die. Please hear the Torah. We need your help to remove this "illusion of death".

This translates as "My God's strength" or "My Goat's God". I prefer the first translation as more acurate.

Zohar Portion of Chok Israel

In our generation it is taught that we will have a difficulty with the time to truly study all 10 levels of Torah. The ARI put together a scheule of daily study that generally takes about 1/2 hour or less except for Friday and many people make that additional time up on Shabbat. This schedule is referred to as Chok L'Israel.

Here are links to the 7 daily studies including an English translation of the Zohar portion that refers to the energy of the day. Each day has a link to the Zohar English translation. This translation needs commentary yet i do not have the time yet so be careful in your own personal reading. there is a hidden agenda in the translation.

The number of Verses in the Parasha

The number of verses is 118. In Hebrew this is קיח which has other words with the same gematria. Some of these words are translated as "change" - "pass through" - "strength" - "to ferment". There is a very significant phrase that relates to this gematria. It is "Cohen Gadol" - "High Priest". I leave it to you to make the connection to the essence of the Parasha. The code words given to us by the Sages is עליאל which translates as "my strength of El" or "God is my strength".
