Sefer Yetzirah Class No 26

We will not have time to finish all of the Mishnayot and the correlations being explained in all of Chapter 4 tonight. We will make up the time next week along with the beginning of Chapter 5.

The Sefer Yetzirah correlates the 7 double letters in the frame of Olam, which is translated as World, in the frame of Shana which is translated as Year, and in the frame of Nefesh which is translated as Soul. We have learned that for our purposes Olam means Space or location. Shana means Time and in our generation time is a relative term. This has always been known in Kabbalah, so we can accept the writings of the Sages without too much adjustment. Nefesh we have learned means consciousness.

In this class we will discuss how the earlier Sages saw the correlates in one frame while the Sages from the ARI onward see them in a different frame. We will also ask the question about why this change in direction took place and what is significant about when the change in direction took place.

We also need to begin to understand what is the purpose of these correlates.

First let us define correlate by looking at the correlations in the frame of Nefesh. The term correlates is a verb in Kabbalah. It is an active process. The term correlations is a noun, which represents a state of being. I am using the term as a verb. These items are active not passive. This is only understood when one does the practice and actually goes Ivri. Remember Ivri means crossing over. Please do not try to understand this paragraph, experience this paragraph. It is very important to not intellectualize this information too much.

In the frame of Nefesh, The Sefer Yetzirah correlates the 7 double letters to the 7 holes in the head. These holes are 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 nostrils, and 1 mouth. Below you will see a two charts that put all of these correlations together, yet there are two distinct paths as said above. Understand that the two ears correlates to the letter Resh and Taf in the system of the Ramak. In the system of the ARI they correlate to Gimmel and Pey. We will discuss below which system for you to use. I will just suggest now you need to learn flexability. Just because a correlation proves true on Monday does not make it true on Tuesday.

In the class on the letters i have given you an quick understanding of the gematria of the various Sephirot and the relationship to the spelled out gematria of the Tetragramaton. I will not take the time to truly develop this in this class. Here is a quick reference.

72 relates to Chochma which relates to the eyes. 63 relates to Binah which relates to the ears. 45 relates to Zeir Anpin which relates to the Nostrils. And 52 relates to Malchut which relates to the Mouth. To truly integrate this information into your knowledge base one must study the ten luminous emanations by Rabbi Ashlag. I teach this class on Wednesday. I study this class on Wednesdays. This class is not for eveyone but i recommend it just as i recommend you scan the Zohar. To receive. energy. Even when one studies ten luminous emanation, one will not come to know this information without crossing over into the dimension in your meditations. This correlation actually integrates the sefer yetzirah, with the Zohar by Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, with the Etz Chaim by Rabbi Chaim Vital. This is for people who actually have a desire to get close to the Creator. Eventually everyone will study this material on this deep level. This is the hint, now lets move on.

Here are the correlations according to the Ramak and the ARI.

Study these relationships well. Learn the differences because they will lead you to the following conclusion. The reason there are different relationships which were revealed at the same time in the History of the World is that the Cordovero relationships are to be used when we CREATE things using these techniques. The relationships from the ARI deal with Kavenah which is the system of the ARI. It is important for you to utilize your intuition to discover why the Plan of God includes both techniques.

To give you some additional information to help you in this process, please listen to the following teachings. Our Sages teach that our physical world is upside down relative to the Spiritual World of Yetzirah. Not just metaphorically but actually. When you create things using these techniques you need to create the body and the soul. If you use the wrong techniques to create the soul it will be upside down. If you use the wrong technique to create the body it willl be inside out. Amazing but true. This is why so many alchemists have failed over the centuries. Don't forget that these techniques need to be powered with the Tetragramaton which only works for pure vessels.

Lets look at the Astrological influences and learn about control when we are doing Kavenah and when we are doing Creative items.

As we study these correlations, we learn that the planet in control of the universe changes every hour. 7 planets do not progress equally in each day, since there are 12 hours in the night and 12 hours in the day. The ARI teaches that the fourth day of creation as stated in the Torah created the sun the moon and the stars. When were they created within the fourth day? In the first hour? When did that occur sundown of the third day. After all There was evening and there was morning day four. The planet that was in charge that hour was saturn.

Here is a chart that shows which planet is in control of each hour.

Lets discuss the chart of the 24 hours of the day and its meaning.

The first item to know is that a minute is not a minute. Also a night minute is a different length than a minute during the day. Therefore a 60 minute hour is not the same length of time. This complicates things but not today since we have advanced calculating machines and other computer devices.

To calculate the actual start and stop of each hour. Take the length of your day from sunrise to sunset in your time zone and for your exact day you are dealing. Take this no of minutes and divide by 12. That is the length of the day or the night which ever you calculated. Do the same for the other one. Then you can do this for each day of the year. We will learn below why that is important. But know that it is important.ell

The sun, moon, starts , and other planets were created on the 4th day of the week. This happened at sundown at the end of the third day. Each planet has influence for an hour in the following order. Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon. The planet that begins a day has influence for the whole day, even as another planet comes into play. Just as we need to pick the right times according to Kohellet, we need to pick the right hour to accomplish our goals.

The Name of each day is related to the planet that has authority at Sunrise but that is not the planet that has authority all day.

The order that we follow is Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Sun, Moon, Mars. This is due to the influence being felt all night and all day. Remember the night precedes the day.

The question must be asked as follows: this order does not follow any order associated with the Sephirot. Why not? Because of the inversion of the two pyramids. The upper worlds run with one set of laws and time running in one direction and the physical world with a different set of natural laws and time running in the opposite direction. Remember this well!

The order that the planets receive their energy from the upper sefirot follow this order: Moon, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury Saturn, Jupiter. Go find that order on the chart. It is not there because this is the spiritual order on day four. From this we can create a chart for the spiritual worlds.

Here is an amazing lesson. You will find this order from the previous paragraph in the above chart dealing with the sephirot from the Ramak. Now we can understand the difference between the Ramak's version and the ARI version. The Ramak was dealing with bringing things down. The ARI deals with going up. Direct Light comes down. It is the Ramak's version. Returning light deals with going up and this is what the ARI taught. AND BOTH ARE NEEDED and BOTH NEED TO BE LEARNED.

This is the answer to the metaphor that God concealed the Light of creation so that the wicked could not make use of it and concealed it for those Tzadikim at the end of days. Do you feel like a Tzadik? May be we can discuss this another time. But know that you have the ultimate light of creation in your incapable hands. It is up to you to become capable by practice and more practice. When you are capable you will be a Tzadik. How does practice make you a Tzadik? try it and see.

This is also why the system today since the ARI is complete but only when you know both parts. This is the built in protection system within the natural order of Creation. Thank God for this protection because we children have learned some science that can destroy the world, yet it will not work without the person pushing the button knowing this material and becoming a Tzadik at that moment. Test all you want. Yet the actual moment the person pushing the button must be Righteous at that moment or it will not work. He or She can not have any desire to receive for oneself alone at that moment.

One aspect of this lesson is that creation has two components. One is to visualize the creation and chant based on the spiritual timing and then one must duplicate it again based on the physical timing.

Let me make this very clear. The correct procedure takes 4 steps. Step one create the spiritual body. Step 2 create physical body. step 3 infuse one in the other. Step 4 Add the life force energy to the combined parts. Do it with the wrong relationship (the spiritual with the physical order of planets or the physical with the spiritual order of planets) and you get something upside down or inside out.

This is the mistake that the generation of the Tower of Babel did. Since they were going to destroy the world Hashem came down and concealed the order between the spiritual and the physical. Actually this was always true but the order was more easily developed than we have today.

When one actually begins to understand these orders of the planets and their relationships to the days, we learn that the center point of the two triangles is the planet Shabtai. The energy of Shabtai is change. In some western astrology it is referred to as death. People used to wear colors relating to the energy of the day as well. People used to wear black on Shabbat since that is the color corresponding to Shabtai. This was changed so that now the energy is Jupiter and expansion not limitation and Shabtai. THAT IS WHY KABBALISTS DO NOT WEAR BLACK BUT ONLY WHITE ON SHABBAT INCLUDING SHOES.

Why is Shabtai the center point? Because the Shefa that flows down becomes lessened which is the energy of Shabtai. When Mashiach comes things will return to their initial system and we will need to learn things all over again.

Now lets put all of this together. take the day that you are doing the creation. start in the spiritual frame with the double letter that relates in the ARI Ramak system. Permute and chant with the Tetragramaton. Then if you are making the same item in the physical on the same day use the system of the ARI and use the letter associated with that day; but start it with when that associated planet is in control. Learn this well in order for things to work properly.

One final note for those of you who want to be spoon fed and not think for yourselves. Why are there parts of the body that correlate as well? What are you creating? What day with what hour and what planet? This will answer that question if you contemplate it a little. If not ask me now.
