SYNOPSIS:

We learn that one should study the Oral Torah on the night of Shavuot so that everything will be purified, and one should study the Written Torah on the day of Shavuot so that everything will be united. We read of the preparations for that joining.

Translation

We learned that one should study this night OF SHAVUOT the Oral Torah, WHICH IS MALCHUT so that MALCHUT AND YISRAEL HER CHILDREN will be purified together by the flowing of the deep river, NAMELY FROM BINAH. After that, during the day ON SHAVUOT the Written Torah, WHICH IS ZEIR ANPIN, will come and join it, MALCHUT, so they will be together, united as one above. A proclamation then resounds concerning him, saying, "As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says Hashem; My spirit that is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth" (Yeshayah 59:21).

Avraham Sutton's Comment from his "Shavuot Power Pak"

chanoch's Commentary

The Sefardim and the Kabbalists Study both the Oral and Written Torah during the Night. The Oral Torah is the "Taking of the Crown" which can be found in the recordings from earlier Shavuot Nights on the Yeshshem website. Within this "Taking of the Crown you will also find aspects of the written Torah. Please join us on the night of Shavuot for our all night study as this will remove chaos from your life for at least 4 months - until Rosh HaShanah.

Translation

Therefore the pious in ancient times did not sleep that night but were studying the Torah, saying, Let us come and receive this holy inheritance for us and our children in both worlds. That night, the Congregation of Yisrael is an adornment over them, and she comes to unite with the King. Both decorate the heads of those who merit this.

Avraham Sutton's Comment from his "Shavuot Power Pak"

We have learned. The portion of the Torah which we must learn on this night is the oral Torah [specifically the sodot (mysteries) of the Torah, in order to crown Tiferet, Zeir/Zehir Anpin, the Vav of Havayah], so that Shekhinah [Malkhut, Nukva, the final Heh of Havayah] and Israel can both be purified [from above] from the waters of the Deep Wellspring [Binah, Imma, the first Heh of Havayah; from the Waters of Love that she receives from Ein Sof via Keter, Arikh Anpin, apex of Yod of Havayah, and Chokhmah, Abba, the Yod of Havayah].

chanoch's Commentary

Those who merit this are those who stay up all night in the appropriate study. Many people in the last few years have started to stay up and study yet there is no change within them from their study.

Translation

Rabbi Shimon said the following when the friends gathered with him that night: Let us come and prepare the jewels of the bride, NAMELY DRAW MOCHIN UPON MALCHUT, so that tomorrow she will be bejeweled, THAT IS, WITH MOCHIN, and properly ready for the King. Happy is the portion of the friends, when the King will ask the Queen who prepared her jewels, illuminated her crowns and put on her adornments. No one in the world knows how to fix the adornments of the bride save the friends. Happy is their portion in this world and in the World to Come.

Avraham Sutton's Comment from his "Shavuot Power Pak"

Afterwards, in Mussaf, the Written Torah (Tiferet, Zeir/Zehir Anpin) will come to bond with Oral Torah (Malkhut, Shekhinah). They will then be found as one together above. It is then proclaimed regarding all who took part in the tikunim of the Shekhinah on leil Shavuot, “Va’ani zot beriti—as for Me, zot-this is my brit with them,” says YKVK [the unity of Shekhinah, which is here called zot-this, with YKVK is the basis of Hashem’s brit-covenant with Israel], “and My spirit which I have placed upon you” [the direct spirit of prophecy and ruach ha’kodesh that flows down from Ein Sof via Tiferet, Zeir/Zehir Anpin, Vav], “and My words which I have placed in your mouth” [words of Torah that we speak and with which we adorn the Oral Torah (Shekhinah) to unite with the Written Torah (Zeir/Zehir Anpin)] “will never leave your mouth, nor your children’s mouths, from now and throughout all eternity” (Isaiah 59:21).

chanoch's Commentary

The Jewels is a code word that is taught in the Kabblah. There are 24 Jewels which are two letter sequences that come from the second word in the last verse in each Book of the Torah. The first letter and the last letter of that word is used to build the Jewel. In this pasuk the friends are people who prepare the Jewels to be used to adorn the Shechina.

Translation

Come and see, the friends prepare that night jewels for the bride, WHO IS MALCHUT, and decorate her with crowns to the King. And who attends the King, ZEIR ANPIN that night so that He will be with the bride, and unite with the Matron, MALCHUT? THAT IS the deep stream, the deepest among the rivers, which is supernal Ima, BINAH, THAT READIES ZEIR ANPIN. This is the secret of, "Go forth, O daughters of Zion, and behold King Solomon with the crown with which his mother crowned him" (Shir Hashirim 3:11). After BINAH readied the King and crowned him, she comes to purify the Matron and those who stand by her, NAMELY THE FRIENDS THAT BUSY THEMSELVES WITH PREPARING HER.

Avraham Sutton's Comment from his "Shavuot Power Pak"

For this reason the ancient pious ones would not sleep on this night. Rather, they immersed themselves in Torah, saying, “let us come inherit the holy inheritance for ourselves and our children, in this world and in eternity.” On this night Shekhinah is crowned by them. She then comes to bond with the King [during Mussaf]. Both then become crowned [from above], to illuminate the minds of those who took part in bringing about their union.

chanoch's Commentary

The "taking of the crown" is what is being described here. It is the unity of Binah Zeir Anpin and Malchut.

Translation

THIS IS LIKENED to a King who had an only son whom he was about to marry to a lofty Matron. All that night, his mother came to the treasure chambers and brought out a superior crown surrounded by seventy precious stones, and crowned him. She took out silken garments and put them on him, and fixed him with royal embellishments.

Avraham Sutton's Comment from his "Shavuot Power Pak"

Rabbi Shimon said: Chaverim (colleagues), when we get together on this night, let us make adornments for the Shekhinah [i.e., let us lift up sparks of holiness through our Torah learning] so that she will be fully adorned in the morning in all 24 permutations of Adanut, to bond with the King. Happy is the portion of the chaverim when the King will then ask the Queen, “Who adorned you? Who illuminated your crowns? Who fixed your jewelry?” Nobody in the world knows how to fix those crowns [provide illumination for the Shekhinah] but the colleagues, masters of the Torah of Atzilut. All the tikunim of the Kalah-Bride depend on them. Happy is their portion in this world and the next.

chanoch's Commentary

this verse is describing why we read 3 verses of the beginning and end of each of the 24 Books. 3 times 24 is 72.

Translation

HIS MOTHER then entered the bride's home and saw maidens preparing diadems, garments and jewelry to bedeck her. She said to them, Behold, I prepared a house for a ritual bath, a place of fresh water with all scents and spices around it to purify my bride. Let the bride come, my son's Matron, together with her maidens, and let them purify themselves where I prepared a ritual bath that I have of fresh water. Afterwards, bedeck her with her jewels, dress her with her garments and put on her crowns. Tomorrow, when my son shall come to unite with the lady, he shall prepare a palace where he shall live with you.

Avraham Sutton's Comment from his "Shavuot Power Pak"

Come see. By learning Torah, the chaverim fix her jewels and crown her, to bring her to the King. But who is it that prepares the King to be with the Bride? It is the Holy River, deeper than all the rivers, Supernal Imma, [Binah, the Upper Heh of Havayah] she gives Zeir/Zehir Anpin his mochin (Chokhmah and Binah) and prepares his crown (Keter). This is the meaning of “Go out, O daughters of Zion, and gaze upon King Shlomo, [behold] the crown with which his Imma-Mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, and the day of his joy.” After Imma crowns Zeir/Zehir Anpin, she goes to purify the Bride (Shekhinah), and those who serve her, Bnei Yisrael who learn Torah on this night.

chanoch's Commentary

As a student of kabbalah did you see the Torah in this description? It is with the words a place of fresh water. It is also telling us to perform a Mikvah prior to the dawn.

Translation

So it is with the Holy King, the Matron, MALCHUT, and the friends, and also supernal Ima, BINAH, that prepares everything, so the supernal King, ZEIR ANPIN, the Matron and the friends live together and never separate. This is the meaning behind, "who shall abide in Your tent "He that walks uprightly, and acts justly" (Tehilim 15:1-2). Who acts justly? Those who prepare the Matron with her jewels, dress and crowns. Each one is considered one who acts righteously, SINCE MALCHUT IS CALLED RIGHTEOUSNESS. Rabbi Chiya said, Had I had merit in the world only to hear these words, it would suffice me. Happy is the portion of those who study the Torah and know the ways of the Holy King, whose desire is for the Torah. Of them it is written, "Because he has set his delight upon Me, therefore I will set him on high I will deliver him, and honor him" (Tehilim 91:14-15).

Avraham Sutton's Comment from his "Shavuot Power Pak"

This is like a king who had an only son. He arranged a marriage for him with an exalted Queen. What did his mother do? That entire night she entered into her treasuries, to bring forth the highest crown inlaid with seventy precious stones [internal mochin of Zeir/Zehir Anpin from Abba-Chokhmah: A”B S”G M”H B”N (39 + 1 letters), and levushin from Imma-Binah: K”SA K”MG K”NA (30 letters)]. She crowns him, and afterwards brings out silk robes and dresses him (in orot makifim, supernal encompassing lights), fixes him with fixings of a King.

Afterwards she goes to the home of her future daughter-in-law. She sees her maidservants (the tzadikim who don’t sleep all night); they have prepared her jewels and gowns to adorn her. The mother of the Chatan-Groom says to them, “Behold I have prepared the mikveh, the place of flowing waters [the 50th gate of Binah, the mystery of the Well of Living Waters]. There, around these waters are the awesome fragrances of Gan Eden, to purify my Kalah-Bride. Come my Kalah, Queen of my son, with your bridesmaids. Immerse in the Mikveh that I have prepared; in the Mikveh of flowing waters that is with Me. Afterwards, adorn yourselves, dress yourselves, crown yourselves. Tomorrow when my son comes to bond with the Queen, he will prepare a palace, and he will dwell with you together.

chanoch's Commentary

This pasuk is clear as written. Praiseworthy is one who stays up all night to Prepare the Jewels.
