The rabbis tell us that the world was only created for the sake of the children of Yisrael so that they could study the Torah, since Zeir Anpin and Malchut are united through it. They compare the body of man with its heart and brain to the body of the world.

Translation

"And now, I pray You, let the power of Hashem be great" (Bemidbar 14:17). Rabbi Acha and Rabbi Yosi say, Praised are Yisrael over all the nations in the world that the Holy One, blessed be He, favored them, called them by His Name and was glorified in them. The world was only created for the sake of Yisrael, so they could study the Torah, since one is united with one, MEANING ZEIR ANPIN AND MALCHUT. Yisrael below in this world are His existence, SINCE THROUGH THEIR GOOD DEEDS THEY ELEVATE MAYIN NUKVIN (LIT. 'FEMALE WATERS') FOR THEIR UNION. They maintain all the nations, MEANING THEY EXIST DUE TO YISRAEL SAKE. When is this? It is when they do their Master's will.

chanoch's Commentary

The Verse is clear as written. We learn a spiritual law. Actions below elevate sparks of feminine Light which unifies with the spiritual level. This is not a metaphor; it is actual reality.

Translation

Come and see, when the Holy One, blessed be He, created man in the world, He prepared him in the likeness of the above. He gave him strength and power in the midst of his body, where the heart lies, which is the strength of the entire body. From there, the entire body is sustained and the heart is attached and strengthened in the high area above, which is the brain in the head that rests above, and one is connected to the other.

chanoch's Commentary

We learn from this pasuk hints to the relationship between the heart and the brain. Did you ever ask why doctors declare someone dead due to brain death and not heart death? The answer is in this pasuk.

Translation

In a similar pattern, the Holy One, blessed be He, has prepared the world. He made it one body and He assembled the body organs around the heart, the heart in the center of the whole body, and all the organs take their nourishment from that heart that provides the strength to all of them. Everything is dependent on it. And that heart is connected and united to the high brain that rests above, as was explained before.

chanoch's Commentary

As the Zohar explains elsewhere Israel is the heart of the world and the other nations surround the heart. Which nation do you think is the brain of the world?
