SYNOPSIS:

The various levels of judgment that occur in Hell are expounded upon by the sages of the Zohar. These judgments were expressed in our physical world during the time of Sodom and Gomorrah and the time of Noah and the flood. The implements of water, fire, and brimstone were used to bring about judgment during these times of intense negativity. The Zohar reveals that the 72 Names of God, along with the angels who are connected to each particular sequence of Hebrew Letters that form the 72 Names, were the conduits by which the force of judgment expressed itself in our physical realm.

THE RELEVANCE OF THE PASSAGE:

The 72 Names of God is an ancient formula encoded in the Torah passage that tells the story of the parting of the Red Sea. This instrument emits both merciful and judgmental forces into our world. Through this passage of Zohar we arouse the protection and positive aspects from the 72 Names and the corresponding angels, thereby removing negative elements and judgments from our life.

Next is the verse, "And Hashem rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah..." Rabbi Chiya opened the discussion with the verse, "Behold, the day of Hashem comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger..." (Yeshayah 13:9) "Behold, the day of Hashem comes" alludes to the earthly Courthouse, WHICH REFERS TO THE JUDGMENTS THAT ISSUE FROM MALCHUT, DURING THE TIME WHEN SHE IS AT THE STAGE OF ILLUMINATION FROM THE LEFT, BEFORE BEING COMBINED WITH THE CENTRAL COLUMN, WHICH IS CALLED THE DECREE OF JUDGMENT. "Comes" is as explained IN REFERENCE TO THE PHRASE, "WHICH HAS COME TO ME," WHICH MEANS THAT SHE ALWAYS COMES AT THE BEGINNING OF EVERY UNION. "Which has come to me" is so because it does not execute Judgment before it enters and receives permission. The same is explained by the verse, "The End of all Flesh has come before Me," which means that it came to ask for permission.

Another explanation of "Behold, the day of Hashem comes" is that it refers to the Saboteur of Below, NAMELY THE ANGEL OF DEATH, when he takes the soul away. This is why THE VERSE CALLS HIM "cruel both with wrath...to lay the land desolate," ALLUDING TO Sodom and Gomorrah, WHICH WERE THROWN OVER AND DESERTED. The phrase, "and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it," REFERS TO those who inhabited that land.

After this, it is written, "For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof..." (Yeshayah 13:10) because it was from the heavens that He rained fire down on them and wiped them out of the world. Then, it is written, "I will make men more rare than fine gold..." (Ibid. 12). This is Abraham, whom the Holy One, blessed be He, raised up and cherished more than any other person in the world.

chanoch's Commentary

This pasuk is clear as written. The word being translated as men is Enosh. The generation of Enosh began idol worship. Avraham is identified as as member of the Astrologers in the Talmud. The true knowledge of astrology is very rare - even more rare than fine gold in our current generation, as the prophecy fortells. It is another indication that Mashiach is near, perhaps even today. This is my opinion.

Translation

Rabbi Yehuda related these verses to the day when the Temple was destroyed. On that day, both the celestial and earthly beings darkened, along with the stars and heavens. Rabbi Elazar explained these verses as follows, The day on which the Holy One, blessed be He, shall raise the Congregation of Yisrael up from the dust, NAMELY AT THE TIME OF REDEMPTION, shall be known on high and down below. As it is written, "But it shall be one day which shall be known to Hashem..." (Zecharyah 14:7). And on that day, the Holy One, blessed be He, shall take revenge on the idol worshippers.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. Can the current endempic virus be HaShem's revenge on one category of idol worshippers? Can the experience of who catches the virus and another level of who dies be attributed to being an idol worshipper? Of course we can never know that while in the physical body and world.

Translation

So when the Holy One, blessed be He, takes revenge on the worshipers of the planets and constellations, it shall be said, "I will make men more rare than fine gold." This is King Messiah, who shall rise up over all peoples of the world and be so honored that all of humanity will bow before him and obey him. This is as it is written, "They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him...the kings of Tarshish...shall bring presents..." (Tehilim 72:9-10).

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. The city or province Tarshish is the location the prophet Jonah is running towards to escape his task. Actually, in my opinion, Tarshish with is gematria of 1210 is the completion of Nineveh - gematria 121. hopefully, this will help your understanding of this pasuk.

Commentary by Bracha

This verse is hinting and identifying the true, rightful King Messiah. Note the word used, "King". This is HaShem. He is the King of all, to Israel His covenant children and the Nations of the World. The Israel Nation is solely ruled by HaShem because of the covenant pact made at Mount Sinai that is still active and enforced today in our generation, but it has been in a concealed state of awareness consciously that HaShem is ruling here. Since HaShem has been in an unrevealed state before His own covenant children, since the second exile began and, including, the returning of His Israel covenant children to the Land of Israel 72 years ago, when WW 11 ended.

This passage #254 is describing the major events that will be taking place as the nearness of this revealing will unfold. It begins with the purging cleansing process unfolding that will be taking place first in the land of Israel. It is removing the practicing idolatry in worshiping the astrology of planets and constellations. When this idolatry worship is removed from the Land of Israel and from the thinking of the Jewish people as a whole, the third temple when built and dedicated, then the spiritual elevation will unfold for the Israel children first. HaShem will be revealed as their King openly. The concealed state will be removed for this revealing.

The last part of the passage is describing that when the true King of Israel is revealed, the Nations who have been ruling over Israel will be reversing their roles and paying tribute gifts to Israel and honoring HaShem.

These are the insights I gleamed from this Zohar study from this one #254 passage section 20 of Vayera.

Just an added note here. I, also, understand that the religious Torah halachic rabbis of Israel are looking for this feat to be fulfilled by the rightful person who will be known as "the Messiah" serving as the political ruler and spiritual leader in the Land of Israel. It has been spoken that there will be two Messiahs, not one, from the Torah halachic rabbis. I am supposing that one of the Messiahs will be on the political, civil front in governing the people of Israel and the other Messiah will be the spiritual leader.

Anciently, Israel ruling was governed by the political front by the reigning King in office anointed and assigned from the spiritual leader appointed by HaShem who directed the spiritual leader in charge to anoint the person who would be officiating as the king ruling. This kingship process began during Prophet Samuel's time. This change is when the Prophet era ended with Samuel directing and instructing both reigns of King Saul and King David, until Prophet Samuel's death. Both the assigned kings of Israel and the Prophet, worked as a team with HaShem directing both of them during their individual roles assigned, one is a political civil servant protecting the people and the land from invaders and the Prophet, the spiritual Torah teacher. HaShem worked through the Prophet who then instructed the king. That was the order, the spiritual took lead first directing the king.

Meaning, Israel may be returning to a theocracy governing body once again with HaShem ruling upon His covenant Israel children in a revealed state. When the third temple is build and dedicated, this unfolding theocracy governing union will be unfolding spiritually with HaShem leading in both areas. I am assuming this is what will be taking place first for the people of Israel who are unaware as the unfolding events are happening at this very moment.

HaShem is the One in charge. He is the King Messiah or the King of the Messiahs referred to in this Zohar passage. HaShem is the One who anoints His servants for these assigned roles. Doesn't the word messiah mean "anointed one"?

Anyway, I am assuming when the third temple is dedicated, once it is build, this truth for the covenant Israelite people as a nation, will know who is in charge. Israel enters into it's collective spiritual work united with their King, HaShem, once again. This renewing state is unfolding as I am writing.

Israel today is in conflict in identifying it's ruling parties lead. At this moment, they are having a fourth vote on whom will be the next ruling head. The secular front is focused politically, and the Torah halachic rabbis focus is spiritually. These two opposing parties are not united and in conflict with their own ideologies that separate them, not uniting them. I am assuming here that when the third temple is dedicated to HaShem, then the conflicts in Israel will cease because the true King of Israel, HaShem's Presence, will be revealed in recognition to His covenant Israel children. This spiritual breach will be restored, healed and activated.

When the Israelite children anciently decided to have " a man king" rule over them, HaShem complied to their wishes, and then went into hiding or referred to "an unrevealed" state. Today, it is taught that HaShem's existence is in an unrevealed state before His covenant Israel nation and, including, the world. The unfolding events leading the Israelite children fully into their returning spiritual roles begins in an elevated capacity, once the third temple is dedicated. HaShem will be reigning openly, not concealed, when this takes place. The entire world will witness this unfolding reality. Most likely in our time, on or before the 6000 year. In two weeks, we enter into the Hebrew calender year, 5781.

Come and behold, even though this prophecy REFERRING TO THE VERSES THAT READ "BEHOLD, THE DAY OF HASHEM..." AND "I WILL MAKE MAN..." was said specifically about Babylon AS WRITTEN, 'THE BURDEN OF BABYLON' (YESHAYAH 13:1), it is said NEVERTHELESS about everything. It is also written in this same passage, "For Hashem will have mercy on Jacob...And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place..." (Yeshayah 14:1-2). It seems that the sages of the Zohar had a different sectioning of the Bible, because in our books, these verses appear in the following chapter.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. The last sentence is not clear to me. Is it possible that there were different chapter and verse nomenclature?

Commentary by Bracha

This passage is about HaShem's merciful lovingness toward His Israelite children who are under covenant with Him. Even when the impression is given that HaShem is not participating with His wayward covenant children when judgement has been merited upon them. He does keep watch over them and will open a door or a window ajar to them when they turn to Him in trusting faith, even when teshuvah is rising inside filling their hearts to call out for help from HaShem in assisting them with their enemies.

The statement, "I will make man..." is in the now moment, not the past tense. Meaning, as human beings with a soul, we are evolving continuously in our learning school instruction as long as we live in this reality in duality. From our experiential learning, mastering ourselves spiritually within this physicality toward not reacting as we are removing the negativity from our inner yetzer hara's influence toward certainty inside of us to hear HaShem's voice and heed His instructions and rebukes. This inner battle is played outwardly within our relationships with others. This is the measuring rod on the truth we gain or misuse or lose. The choice is ours.

HaShem knows how we are growing from our choice actions displayed with each other when it comes to fulfilling "loving our fellow as ourselves". This interplay is revealing upon the lessons we have learned or having to be repeating until acquired from the experience when practicing lovingness with each other. Emulating Our Creator's lovingness is the goal when one chooses to extend these actions walking like Him towards one another, including the treatment we give to the animal kingdom sharing in this schooling for our souls and the plant kingdom of Mother Nature.

We, also, are learning how to hear the voice of HaShem again when he calls us. This is our learning practice in trusting HaShem's lovingness towards us and not leaning upon the Binah understanding that is from the judgement pillar, not the Chesed pillar of the sefirots. (This direction is from MIshle' chapter 3:5 when read in Hebrew) Remember, we are HaShem's servants, besides His children along with all the Noahide families upon the earth. We each have our parts and roles to play in this elevating, evolving spiritual process to assist HaShem in completing this unique world towards it full potentiality spiriutally. Most likely, this is about all His creations beginning with Man.

When the name of Jacob is mentioned in this passage, it maybe referring to the women. When a woman chooses to walk with HaShem acquiring the "fear" of HaShem in her awareness while fulfilling her specific role in serving both her mate and children with her Torah instructions. Her love and reverence toward HaShem's Torah instructions becomes the key on how both her mate and children will observe HaShem's ways. She is the catalysis upon this unfolding process influencing both her mate and children to bring them to their place spiritually.

Apparently, the Zohar is the book expounding more from the original books that are referred to in the Tanach and the Talmud to assist our spiritual work with negativity in this dualistic world that we came to rise above into HaShem's light. This light is shared in this interacting, evolving process ignited with each other, into the animal kingdom and into Mother's Earth's elevation spiritually, too. We are all interconnected into this evolving, growth process with HaShem leading, guiding, disciplining and instructing us unawares or aware as HaShem's light is shining upon us with increasing strength.

Translation

The phrase, "Then Hashem rained upon Sodom," refers to the level of the earthly Courthouse, which is granted permission from above. Rabbi Yitzchak said that the Judgment was executed with Mercy, as it is written, "from Hashem out of heaven," FOR THE NAME YUD HEI VAV HEI IMPLIES MERCY. This is so that Judgment will be mixed with Mercy. You might ask: What Mercy is there here? HE REPLIES, As it is written, "And it came to pass, when Elohim destroyed the cities of the plain, that Elohim remembered Abraham..." (Beresheet 19:29). And after this, two whole nations issued from LOT. And he had the honor of being the great ancestor of David and King Solomon.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. Elsewhere the Torah teaches that no man receives the effect of another persons action. Thus why do the actions of King David and King Solomen reflect on Lot?

Commentary by Bracha

These verses are recognizing HaShem's Greatness as Mankind's Sole Judge and Executor. It is He who is fully in charge on Mankind's progress and when the Heavenly Courts Above are called in to assess the seriousness on the matter at hand, as in the case of the City of Sodom, HaShem steps in. He personally directs His Angels, each with their individual instructions, to fulfill, besides having them attend to Father Abraham's needs on their way to Sodom.

HaShem's Beneficence toward His fellow Servants on this earthly plane is rendered in Kindness and Respectful regard, even when He listens to Father Abraham's concerns as Abraham steps forward to address Him on this matter of accounting decided toward fulfillment. In this intern between HaShem and Father Abraham, Abraham is blessed with two additional nations - Ammon and Moab - added to his own future lineage.

HaShem's Kingship is active and alive today, even when we as His human soul Children have forgotten this heavenly awareness consciously. During this transition in our "end of days" cleansing, this Fear and Awe of HaShem's Presence will return with full consciousness for all of Mankind. There will be no questioning who is Our Rightful King. All will know and behave accordingly as the respectful servants and children on whom we are truly in our soul awareness, when we wake up.

See what is written, "And it came to pass, when they had brought them outside abroad, that he said, ESCAPE FOR YOUR LIFE" (Beresheet 19:17). Come and behold, we have learned that when Judgment hangs over the world, people should not be at the marketplace. This is because when Judgment comes, it does not distinguish between the righteous and the wicked. Therefore, one should not be there. And it has been explained that this is why Noah hid in the ark and did not look upon the world as judgment was executed. And so it is written, "and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning" (Shemot 12:22), THAT IS, until judgment is executed. And this is why it is written, "Escape for your life, look not behind you..."

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. Why does judgment impact all people and not distinguish between righteous and wicked? Is it due to the fact that they are the same generation?

Commentary by Bracha

HaShem is Our Executor solely. He keeps us informed on His plans when we are on task with our Torah studies, doing good deeds or if we are straying too far from the fences of Torah. This passage is a reminder to us that we are to stay alert and heed His Voice, even at the slightest moment.

The questions to ask ourselves, "Do we recognize HaShem's Voice? Have we distinguished it from our two yetzer voices, tov or ra, that dwells inside of us? Do we know the difference on whom is influencing us?" These are the basic questions to ask ourselves before we leap to something new or react without thinking through at our moment choices without counting the possible consequences afterwards on our choices selected or risking convince we can take care of it later.

Self reflection is a discipline skill requiring daily practice as we come to know our true selves from the outer influences around that strive to bid our attention away from our mitzvots with Torah studies, prayer and doing good deeds without motive. How often have you become distracted when you were planning to read your Torah for the day or begin your prayers? Note these promptings to keep you away from taking your daily antidote medicine to help your tov soul stronger within as we are learning to make ourselves available to assist HaShem, even at a moments notice.

The passage begins with the angels escorting Lot, his daughters and his wife outside of the city gates of Sodom to escape the dire consequences about to be set in motion. When the angels set them free, they gave them explicit instructions. Do not look back. The reasons were not given.

Then, the passage changes with instructions to not find yourself walking in the marketplace when judgement has been given. The reason is given here that those who live with Torah's right choice actions versus the ones who live without law of Torah are both in jeopardy.

The last example takes us to Noah hiding in the ark when the judgment was in motion of execution. Meaning, the ark's doors were closed and Noah with his family waited.

So, what is the lesson here for us to understand fully. It is a test. When HaShem gives instructions on what to do, do it as explained, no deviations. When we heed the instructions of discipline given, we strengthen ourselves to begin listening and hearing HaShem's voice inside of ourselves from our yetzers influences. This is what these verses are reminding us to keep alert and aware as we come to know how to serve HaShem with our yetzers in union, not separation striving for attention. Remember, our yetzer tov's voice is soft, gentle and sometimes can't be heard over the impulsive, anxious, controlling yetzer hara's voice.

The verse is clear as written. If the effect of two judgements are the same can they have the same cause? If the effect is different can they have the same cause?

Remember, our yetzer tov's voice is soft, gentle and sometimes can't be heard over the anxious, controlling yetzer hara's voice

Rabbi Yitzchak responded that Sodom was sentenced by the Judgment of Gehenom, as it is written, "Then Hashem rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Hashem out of heaven." One was punished with the aspect of water; the other with the aspect of fire; and both are the punishments of Gehenom. The sinners in Gehenom are punished with both these aspects of Judgment BECAUSE THERE IS THE 'GEHENOM OF SNOW,' WHICH IS WATER, AND THERE IS THE 'GEHENOM OF FIRE.'

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. Know there are multiple Hell's. One of fire and one of watrer. Perhaps one of air and one of earth. That is my question?

Commentary by Bracha

Verse #259 is depicting two levels experienced when in the spiritual dimension of Gehenom, the cleansing, purging place for our soul, with the elements of water and fire. The focus on the two water levels of the cleansing using fire is being described here. The first water experience is boiling, bubbling water to the state of burning and the next level was water in a frozen state. Note the intermingling on water and fire's interaction on these two each processes described in this passage.

The descriptive words used are adjectives. To grasp the real message on these words, one needs to know the correct meaning of the terms used. For instance, "brimstone". This is an Old Germanic term used to describe cooking when boiling water to a bubbling point almost to burning. It was interesting how this word brimstone was connected to fire. It gives the added intensity when fire is an attached part on this experience in this purging, cleansing spiritually. Then, the next phase was describing "Gehenom of snow." The water turned to a frozen state.

Questions:

1. Is the Gehenom spiritual experience possible on our physicality living? If so, what are the emotions of our hearts that it may be referring to that creates a "hellish" experience for we as humans with a soul interacting with ourselves and another?

2. In your opinion, is it better to confront our private "Gehenoms" in our daily living or wait until the Angel of Death is assigned to bring us to the cleaning gate into Gehenom?

3. In the Zohar and Torah, Gehenom is referred to as a learning experience to not fear. Do you consider it a learning that either destroys or enhances or both? What are the possible gifts one can receive when this spiritual cleansing process is fulfilled?

He said to him, The sinners are sentenced to twelve months in Gehenom, WHERE THEY ARE CLEANSED, THAT IS PURIFIED. LATER, the Holy One, blessed be He, raises them from Gehenom and makes them sit at its gates watching other sinners enter and receive punishment. And they ask for Mercy for them. And after this, the Holy One, blessed be He, is merciful to them. HE RAISES THEM UP AND AWAY FROM THE GATES OF GEHENOM, bringing them to the place required for them. From that day onward, the body rests in the dust while the soul inherits its appropriate place.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written.

Commentary by Bracha

Verse 260 is describing the basic three step process that a sinner experiences when entering into the Gehenom cleansing and purging realm upon one's death. It is twelve months in length. HaShem's mercy unfolds after this cleansing process is completed by having the purified sinners wait at the entrance gate watching the new arrivals enter into Gehenom. Then, HaShem, raising them up from the gates of Gehenom to the place earned from their accounting judgments. The physical body on the earth is put at rest when this day arrives for them inheriting their assigned place.

Come and behold, we have learned that even the generation of the Great Flood was punished with fire and water only. Cold water came down from above and boiling water from below, FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE EARTH, as fire. So they were punished by the two Judgments, because the Judgment of above is executed WITH TWO KINDS OF JUDGMENT, water and fire. And this is why there was brimstone and fire in Sodom BECAUSE THE BRIMSTONE COMES FROM WATER, AS IS KNOWN.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written.

Commentary by Bracha

Verse 261 continues to explained the two punishments of water and fire that was experienced, since the generation of the Flood and of Sodom. The two forms of the water cleansing with boiling, bubbling water from the earth called fire and the frozen water from the heaven's falling upon the earth as the rising hot waters were rising beneath the earth. It made note that the brimstone on the Sodom generation was water, too.

262. He asks him, Will THE PEOPLE OF SODOM rise IN THE FUTURE for the Day of Judgment? He responded, We have already learned this. Those PEOPLE of Sodom and Gomorrah will not rise FOR JUDGMENT IN THE FUTURE DURING THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD. This is proven by the verse, "And that the whole land there is of brimstone, and salt, and burning...which Hashem overthrew in His anger, and in His wrath" (Devarim 29:22). "Which Hashem overthrew" means in the present world; "in His anger" means in the World to Come; and "in His wrath" means at the time when the Holy One, blessed be He, shall resurrect the dead.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. This pasuk is explaining code words. This information is troubling. If souls are part of HaShem then how do these parts of HaShem return to HaShem? One answer is that they reincarnated into animals and will be resurrected in the additional 5 7000 year periods.

Commentary by Bracha

Verse 262 explains that the people of Sodom and Gomorrah would not be participating in the future Day of Judgment upon the resurrection of the dead for all of Mankind. According to the verse in the Book of Devarim 29:22, the earthly land of Sodom was left in a state of sulfur and salt ,whereby, the ground can not be replenished nor sown in seed. It is a barren land, even into our day, where nothing can grow, not even grass. Then, the verse ends with the phases explaining what is meant when HaShem is in the picture orchestrating each event as for the generation of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Questions:

1. What is the lesson we are to observe from this spiritual ancient story related about the generation of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim into our day?

2. Can our "end of days" prevent this same happening into our generation? What do you think?

263. He said to him, Come and behold. Just as their land was destroyed forever, so were they destroyed forever. Just as they did not revive the soul of the poor with food or with drink, so in the same way, the Holy One, blessed be He, does not give their soul back to them in the World to Come.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. This does not address the idea of multiple resurrections separated by 7000 years as discussed in my comments of pasuk 262.

Commentary by Bracha

Verse 263 confirms that living in our duality world, justice is meant with "measure for measure" ruling. It is referred to as "just retribution". When Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim failed to render towards the poor of food and drink with charity, this same condition was extended towards the souls of these people of these cities by not allowing them entrance into the World to Come.

Questions:

1. Is this fair justice or retribution taken too far? What insights are gained from this administration in the spiritual justice of HaShem?

2. What about those who haven't learned nor acquired Torah instruction? Is this fair justice without the knowledge of HaShem instructed?

Come and behold, they refrained from giving charity, which is called life. Thus, the Holy One, blessed be He, withheld life from them in this world and in the World to Come. And just as they blocked the pathways and routes for other people, so did the Holy One, blessed be He, block the pathways and routes of mercy from them, so that they could not receive Mercy in this world or in the World to Come.

chanoch's Commentary

the verse is clear as written. The word being translated as charity is "MeTzedakah = from Tzedaka". See our basic class on Tzedakah and Terumah to learn the requirements. Tzedakah requires one to find a "truly poor person" like yeshshem.com.

Commentary by Bracha

Verse 264 verifies the reason that the generation of Sodom's eternal punishment was due to their lack of giving charity to their fellow men. This cause and effect relationship created the blockages, whereby, the people were prevented from receiving HaShem's merciful judgement in this world and the World to Come. Note that HaShem was the one putting the blockages before the people from finding His merciful pathways.

What does this passage remind and instruct you to do, now that you understand HaShem's justice in both Worlds?

Rabbi Aba then said, All the people of the world will rise AT THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD and be judged. But of THE PEOPLE OF SODOM, it is said, "and some to shame and everlasting contempt" (Daniel 12:2). Yet the Holy One, blessed be He, is merciful. Because He punished them in this world and they accepted His punishment, they shall not be punished in the future with all Judgments, BUT ONLY WITH A FEW OF THEM.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. Can we reconcile this seemingly conflict? Of course the people of Sodom will not be resurrected. They will be reincarnated prior to the coming of Mashiach and tasked with caring for the sickness of the Corona virus., this is my opinion.

Commentary by Bracha

Verse 265 confirms all people will be judged when " the day of resurrection for the dead" arrives, except the generation of Sodom. HaShem will not do two judgements upon this generation for they accepted their accounting from Him in our physicality world. It is mentioned that a few from the generation of Sodom, stated in Daniel 12:2, will awaken from the dust with shame and everlasting contempt of extreme dislike, just a few of them and the others awakening will have life everlasting. These were the two groups of people judged by HaShem.

Rabbi Chiya said that it is written, "And sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow..." AND HE ASKS, What is MEANT BY "when He overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt," SINCE HE DWELT ONLY IN ONE OF THEM? AND HE REPLIES, Lot did dwell in all of them. As it is written, "And Lot dwellt in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent toward Sodom" (Beresheet 13:12). But nobody accepted him in Sodom, except for the King of Sodom, for the sake of Abraham, WHO RETURNED HIS PEOPLE AND THE GOODS THAT HE HAD LOST DURING THE WAR OF THE FOUR KINGS.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. Perhaps, the cities on the plain are kind of like suburbs to our current cities. Each suburb has a status of physical wealth. Lot was new and settled in one city. Has his fortune increased he was able to change locations.

Commentary by Bracha

Verse 266 is making an emphasis about reviewing the story of Lot, the nephew of Abraham. The event taking place is when the land was divided between Lot and Abraham. Lot chose to dwell around the cities of Sodom in the plains. In Beresheet 13:12, the people of Sodom were described as wicked and sinful towards HaShem. The king of Sodom was decent with Lot because of his respect for his Uncle Abraham.

Questions:

1. Was Lot aware on the cities surrounding him at the time when he chose his place? If so, how much influence did these wicked cities have upon Lot or did they?

2. In our very own "end of days" experiences, how much influence is promoted from those who live lawlessly spiritually and with contempt towards HaShem's laws affecting all people of our world? Does Torah study alone help us from repeating the errors of the cities of Sodom's generation?

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. This verse is hinting to the various hierarchy in human relationships.

Commentary by Bracha

The addendum is clarifying what the righteous achieve when they have balanced the lower levels of their soul, nefesh, ruach and neshama, strengthening their spiritual connection and attachment to HaShem's light from the physical world of materiality. Remember, the nefesh, ruach and the neshama levels of our soul is the initial internal spiritual work we do in our duality in this physical earthly state. What is achieved in this balance is the inspiring awakening "Awe of Yirah of Adonai" at the highest level spiritually in the action world of Asiyah. This is confronted daily from our free will choices on proactive versus reactive interplay exchanged with others as well as calling upon HaShem's assistance. This is hinted from the vocabulary words describing this process, "sublime","connected and attached" and "Greatness of the Holy One".

When this lower level balance is maintained, then the upper worlds spiritually with Chesed, Gvurah and Tiferet are revealed on there part on this evolving, unfolding spiritual union connection. The lower and upper worlds work in tandem union spiritually. This is the hidden spiritual process not revealing itself unless discovered from the seekers on HaShem's Wisdom. Binah of Zeir Anpin is orchestrating this evolving spiritual process experienced towards union with the spiritual integration with the physicality interconnected within the four worlds of Asiyah, Yetzirah, Briyah, and Atzilut.

Apparently, this addendum was added to encourage us to continue to seek the spiritual integration work from our physical world trusting the process at each juncture of challenge.

Question:

How does the mastery on one's two yetzers, tov and ra, play into this described process above? Or does it?

THEN S HE IS A PLACE OF JUDGMENT ACCORDING TO THE SECRET OF A 'BURNING FIRE AND HOT STEAM OF THE FURNACE.' These seventy aspects glow in all directions, THAT IS, TO ALL 'FOUR WINDS' (DIRECTIONS) OF THE WORLD, WHICH ARE NAMED CHOCHMAH, BINAH, TIFERET, AND MALCHUT.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. This is hinting to the relationship of each Sefirah and its ability to Sefirot thaat have the same name.

Commentary by Bracha

Verse 268 is introducing the three Worlds, Briyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah, interaction as they are working together in filtering the intense light of Our Creator into the Malkhut kingdom of Asiyah, where Mankind resides. Remember, Binah in the Briyah World is orchestrating this entire process while interacting with the sharing male component of Chesed love. Binah is the female understanding in Gervurah with both judgement and mercy operating interactively together.

The basic processing components that one experiences from the Asiyah world in action from Zer Anpin is integrating the basic six sefirots of the lower world (chesed, gervurah, tiferet, netzach, hod, and yesod) in balance. This passage wants us to know that the dynamic is female first, igniting by the sharing male. Note the words used to identify as female: Nukva, She,Decree and Place of Judgment, left side, hot steam. The male is interactive into this process by penetrating the female light, darkness. Note the male words used in this passage: fire, right side, burning fire.

The word, "glow", mentioned several times in the passage is referring to the twilight time in our world when the spiritual light of HaShem enters from the integrating female male to male female cycling from day into night and night into day rotations. According to the Sages, praying during twilight time is connecting to the entering new light into our world in duality.

chanoch adds: Bracha uses the term male female to female male. This term refers to the transition of the setting of the sun and / or rising of the moon. This is a mixed energy yet in spirituality there is no mixed energy.

Questions: What have you noticed when praying during the twilight times suggested compared to other times of the day or evening? If you haven't prayed at twilight, would you consider to attempt this process as part of your daily prayer experience?

From Daat, this feeder of light like a prism, the light spreads out into the World of Briyah that includes Chochman - wisdom, color white, on the right, and Binah - understanding, color red, on the left, then onto Tiferet sefirot, color green, the center column.

This dispersal of light continues into the seventy aspects of Zeir Anpin, the seven sefirots, into the lower worlds (chesed, gveruah, tiferet, netzach, hod, yesod, and malchut). Remember, each sefirot in the lower world of Zer Anpin, has ten levels each apart from the other, giving a total of seventy.

Note how Malkhut, the World of Asiyah, is black in color. This is the final place where HaShem's light is received. The color black absorbs the light, not reflects it from the white light prism shining.

The books for this light dispersal is opened for dispersal accounting, not judgement nor punishment nor execution. It is just recording the light given from this ongoing flowing process like a flowing river dividing into it's tributaries.

Whew, Chanoch! This verse carries so much information that it is almost mind blowing to me! Just a note on the side. I do not know how you can trust me on my insights for I am a very young ignorant student when it comes to Kabbalah and the Zohar. I say this for my attention with Torah study has been in other basic areas to strengthen my foundation as I improve and refine my character traits in readiness to serve My Wonderful, Loving Creator. He is so Awesome to me!! It is humbling.

chanoch adds: This self examination is an important tool to learn and use as one developes spiritually.

Pasook 270. from the Zohar Sulam Commentary on Parasha Vayera

Translation

From here the Arrows, Swords, Spears, and the Fire of the Tower go forth. And a strong Fire comes out of the heavens, ZEIR ANPIN clinging to it, NAMELY, TO THE NUKVA. Thus, when the upper Fire, NAMELY THE JUDGMENTS OF ZEIR ANPIN, clings to the lower Fire, NAMELY THE SEVENTY JUDGMENTS OF THE NUKVA, no one can cancel the wrath and Judgment THAT BELONG TO THE JUDGMENTS OF THE NUKVA.

chanoch's Commentary

With Rabbi Ashlag's comments, the verse is clear as written. Nothing can cancel the lower judgements yet they can be sweetened by the blowing of the Shofar and other actions like Teshuvah.

Commentary by Bracha

Verse 270 is pointing our attention on the words of judgement that we use with ourselves, others and to Our Creator. This is what this verse is addressing from the blueprint of the the Kabbalah when using the sefirots model when depicting our physical world of our body.

Questions:

1. The noun words arrows, swords, spears and fire, what do they have in common?

2. The Zeir Apin in our lower level in the World of Asiyah is addressed in this verse. This is referring to the physical body of the torso where this region is located, including the six main sefirots that comprise the make up of Zeir Anpin. What is the main organ in the torso that is both constructive and destructive?

3. The Torah Sages have expounded upon the most destructive organ in man. What organ is this? Describe it's location and the harm it can create and tell the guarding fences it requires.

4. In Mishle', chapter 6:17 - 19, King Solomon describes the six character traits that HaShem hates about His children, mankind. What are these six behavioral traits? Which is the most loathsome from HaShem? Why?

chanoch adds: The 3 Verses:

משלי - MiSHLai = Proverbs

6:17 עינים רמות לשון שקר וידים שפכות דם-נקי

Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood;

משלי - MiSHLai = Proverbs

6:18 לב חרש מחשבות און רגלים ממהרות לרוץ לרעה

A heart that deviseth wicked thoughts, feet that are swift in running to evil;

משלי - MiSHLai = Proverbs

6:19 יפיח כזבים עד שקר ומשלח מדנים בין אחים

A false witness that breatheth out lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
