Shabbat Chol HaMoed Pesach

Commentary for Shabbat 8th Day Pesach for the year 5778

Shabbat Pesach: As promised in last week's email we will discuss the uniqueness of the 7 or 8 days of Pesach. To me, the most important aspect of 7 days in Israel and 8 outside of Israel is that it creates a separation in the Torah readings on Shabbat between Israel and the diaspora. This is like the difference between day 1 and day 2 of Creation. It is like the difference between Sunday and blue Monday. If you want further clarification of this point send an email to yeshshem@hotmail.com. The energy of Pesach is about freedom from the desire to receive for oneself alone. To achieve this freedom requires a 8 day connection to the Torah; along with a connection to the Hallel - 10 Psalms. Each day of the Chag we refrain from consuming chametz and also hear the Torah reading which is the Soul of HaShem. If you want further explanation send an email. Why is the 7th day a Holday? Do not say the answer is due to the physical "splitting of the Yam Suf". Do not say the answer is due to the Torah tells us so. The answer is due to the unity of the Children of Israel in connecting to the energy of certainty. This is the energy of the 7th day of Pesach - CERTAINTY. The energy of this Shabbat's reading: There are 48 verses in this reading. 48 is 26 + 22. Every student of Kabbalah knows these numbers. 26 is HaShem which is the Light and 22 is the Hebrew letters representing the vessel. 26 represents Zeir Anpin. 22 represents Malchut. 48 is the unity of Light and Vessel - Zeir Anpin and Malchut. The 8th day brings the energy of Binah - the Mother. The energy of the Mother is sharing. This is clear from the first verse in the reading being about tithing. Thus we see that the energy of Pesach is the unity of Binah with Zeir Anpin with Malchut. Commentary for Parasha Shabbat Pesach for the year 5778

Shabbat Pesach: During the week of Pesach there are readings from the Torah all 8 days. During this year of 5778 there are two Shabbat readings + 5 readings on days of Pesach Chol HaMoed + One additional Holiday reading on The 7th Day of Pesach. Lets discuss what happens spiritually during these 8 days and how the Torah readings relate to these days. In Israel there are 7 days of Pesach. Outside of Israel there are 8 days of Pesach. Why does this happen? Since this week is only the Shabbat reading, we will discuss this in more detail next week. The energy of this Shabbat's reading: Two week past we read from the Torah the section of Torah referred to as Parasha HaChodesh. This reading was chapter 12 Verses 1 - 20. This weeks reading continues at verse 21 and completes at verse 51. There are 29 verses in the Shabbat Pesach reading from the Torah. This is a hint to the Name Av = Father. Av is a code word connecting to the Sefira of Chochmah. Another word with a gematria of 29 is כזב = join together. In addition there are 10 additional verses in the Maftir reading. this connects to the 10 Sefirot. The total number of verses to be read on Shabbat Pesach is 39. 39 connects to the Hebrew word Tal = dew. Dew has the energy of Mashiach since the Prophets speak of the annointing of Mashiach using the dew of wisdom. The energy of the reading is to manifest Mashiach in the consciousness of people. Verse Kabbalistic Analysis: For Shabbat Pesach - Exodus Chapter 12 Verse 21 ויקרא משה לכל-זקני ישראל ויאמר אלהם משכו וקחו לכם צאן למשפחתיכם ושחטו הפסח Translation: Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them: 'Draw out, and take you lambs according to your families, and kill the passover lamb. Transliteration: Vayikra Moshe LeCal Ziknai Yisrael WaYomer Ahlayhem Mishko Wakcho Lechem Tzon LaMishpachtaikem Whashachto HaPesach. Numbers from this verse: 14 words - connects to the Sefirah of Malchut and its essence of manifestation : 61 Letters - 61 is a number that, generally speaking, is little known yet extremely powerful. 61 connects to Binah since the phrase Amcha meaning "your mother" has a gematria of 61. Also the words Ani = "I" and the same letters in a different order is Ain = nothingness. As Kabbalah teaches "nothing is everything". 61 is 39 + 22. 39 is a number connected to the Light of Mashiach. While 22 represents the vessel through the energy of the 22 Hebrew Letters. T Shiluv Tool: First Letters. This is my intuitive connection. You need to do this for yourself as well ומלזיואמוצלצוה The gematria of this sequence is 362. 362 is the gematria of the following phrases - "in your name" - Exodus 5:23 and "your path" - Psalm 77:19. Thus 362 is a number that points the way to find your tikune relatively easily. The small gematria of the first letters is 70. 70 is a number that relates to the 70 nations as well as the word secret. It also relates to the Hebrew word for wine. The normal gematria is when the letters position within the Alef Bet is recognized and this style of a number is called normal gematria. The normal gematria of this verse is 6+13+12+7+10+6+1+13+6+18+12+18+6+5 = 133. 133 is the word for "plague". The Kabblah teaches that by changing the vowels on the three letters of the Hebrew word you provide a protection shield against plagues in our world today. Plagues like "aids" and "cancer". Shiluv Tool: Final Letters This is my intuitive connection. You need to do this for yourself as well. אהלילרםווםןםוח The gematria of these letters is 472. 472 = 72 + 400. 400 relates to the resurection of the dead. and 72 relates to the Sefira Cochmah. The resurrection will come through the manifestation of "wisdom". The small gematria of the final letters is 58. 58 relates to the energy of Noach as well as "comfort" which is the meaning of Noach. The normal gematria of these final letters is 1+5+12+10+12+20+13+6+6+13+14+13+6+8=139. 139 is the gematria of "Gan Elohim" - "Garden of G-d". Please email yeshshem@hotmail.com with your own meanings to these letters as acronyms. Your meanings will be added to the parasha page along with the attribution unless you request that there not be an attribution posted. It is important that the above is not misinterpreted. There is only one God and He/She/It is the God of the Children of Israel. Additional Reading: Megillah Shir HaShirim

The Parasha reading this next Shabbat – Shabbat Chol HaMoed Pesach seems to be an interruption in the flow of the Torah readings. Nothing could be further from the truth. This seeming interruption is actually a connection to Freedom which is a connection to the Central Column of the Tree of Life. This is because freedom can only be achieved when one is connected to the balance point – the Central Column.

The number of Verses in the Parasha

There are 38 Verses in the Parasha. Plus the 7 verses of the Maftir makes a total of 45 verses. The number 45 is the gematria of the Name Adam which translates as a human soul which includes male and female in unity. The energy of this parasha is to remain in balance and connected to the Central Column of the Tree of Life.
