Parasha Shemot שמות

The essence of Parasha Shemot

This parasha starts out with a literal list of Names. These Names are the Names of the sons of Jacob / Israel. The Torah never wastes letters or words we are taught by our Sages. So why do we list the Names of the Children of Israel when we already know this information? The secular world calls this parasha and book by the Name Exodus. This is because the story is of the redemption or Exodus - leaving Egypt. This is a physical level while the Hebrew always uses the internal level - the essence. What do we learn from the word Shemot meaning Names in Hebrew? if we break the name Shemot into two parts. Shem which means Name and Vav Tav. These two letters when spelled out allow us to permutate the Hebrew letters into the following: Vav Ot וו אות. Shemot can now be perceived as Shem Vav Ot which can be interpreted as "Name of 12 signs or letters. In the Sefer Yetzirah each Tribe relates to Each sign of the Zodiac which relates to each of the 12 elemental letters. thus we see that the beginning of the control of the signs of the Zodiac takes place with the Parasha Shemot, which is its essence. The balance of the items in this parasha - Birth of Moshe - burning Bush scenario - Name of God Ehiyeh Asher Ehiyeh - culminating in the perception that the redemption was not going to work when Moshe causes greater calamity and chaos. The essende of Shemot is to remove chaos and that is what we perceive from the name Shemot in my opinion.

Parasha Shemot is from the Book of Shemot Chapter 1 Verse 1 to Chapter 6 Verse 1

The Haftara is from Jeremiah Chapter 1 Verse 1 until Chapter 2 Verse 3.

Commentary from 5778

The name of the parasha and the name of the Book of Torah is Shemot which means Names.

The simple reason it is called Shemot is that it is listing the names of the Children of Israel which, while in Egypt, have grown into 12 Tribes and one nation.

The deeper reason is that in another Parasha - Beshallach in Exodus Chapter 14 Verses 19 - 21 are concealed the 72 Names of HaShem. These are also the 72 Names from the Tzadikim.

We learn from this parasha that a Name of HaShem is actually an attribute. From this statement it is important to realize that everything is potentially revealed in Names and words. This applies to all things. The most important realization is that it even applies to your name. Your name is a mirror image of your soul.

By analyzing your name one can learn about the characteristics of your essence as well as your personality traits. There are additional aspects and attributes one can learn from your name, as well.

The best person to learn how to learn these traits is YOURSELF. I will start a class to teach this shortly. If you are interested in this send an email to yeshshem@hotmail.com.

The same truth that applies to your name also applies to the words that people use. Here is an example:

In the Hebrew world view the second book of Torah is called "Shemot - Names". In the western world view the same book is referred to as "Exodus - mass evacuation". Another possibility is "redemption" - regaining possession of something.

Exodus represents the essence of leaving or loosing something. This is the view of the western world. The Children of Israel lost something of value, when they left Egypt. What value is not clear to me. If the book had been called redemption it would have meant a positive recovery of the Land Promised to the Patriarchs.

A mystic or a Student of Kabbalah will realize that when the Kabbalah teaches the Angel in charge of the Children of Esau or the western world is Satan it also by extension is the reason the world calls it Exodus and not Redemption.

Are you willing to other words that this applies both in the Bible and in other aspects of your life? Please send to yeshshem@hotmail.com these examples and we will include it on the website to help others break away from the tools of Satan.

Verse Kabbalistic Analysis: Shemot Chapter 1 Verse 1

ואלה שמות בני ישראל הבאים מצרימה את יעקב איש וביתו באו

NOW THESE are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt with Jacob; every man came with his household:

WeAleh Shemot Benai Israel HaBoyam Mitzraymah Et Yaakov Ish Webayto BaU.

11 words - connects to the 11 components of the Ketoret that bring one closer to HaShem. It is also a number of inclusivity since the number 11 reTlates to the 10 sefirot + the negative system. Know that the negative system potentially begins in the Sefirah of Binah. 11 is one above the Sefirot and the physical world.

44 Letters connects to the Hebrew word for blood. It also is the gematria of Em and Av - Mother and Father.

Shiluv Tool: First Letters

This is my intuitive connection. You need to do this for yourself as well

ושביהמאיאוב

The small gematria of the first letters is 32. 32 relates to the Hebrew word Lev which means heart. It also relates to the 32 paths of wisdom.

These numbers clearly relate to the unity of Zeir Anpin and Malchut and and also Life.

Shiluv Tool: Final Letters

This is my intuitive connection. You need to do this for yourself as well.

התיל֕םהתהשוו

The gematria of these letters is 1137. This is 1000 + 137. 137 is the gematria of the word Kabbalah in Hebrew. As students of Kabbalah know Kabbalah means "to receive". 1000 is the meaning of the word Alef in Hebrew. This means that when speaking in numbers in Hebrew one may say Alef and mean the number 1 and also mean the number 1000. 1000 is the same as the number 1 only in the frame of Chochmah - wisdom.

Thus 1137 has the meaning of "to receive Alef". This means "to receive unity".

Please email yeshshem@hotmail.com with your own meanings to these letters as acronyms. Your meanings will be added to the parasha page along with the attribution unless you request that there not be an attribution posted.

It is important that the above is not misinterpreted. There is only one God and He/She/It is the God of the Children of Israel. Always feel and show respect - fear, awe for God whose Name is

יהוה

Included in this name are all of the attributes that a human being perceives as belonging to HaShem, including Elohim - Shadai - myriads of other Names.

Commentary from 5777

The Parasha Shemot Translates as "Names". When permutated their are many other meanings open to our understanding. Some are mentioned in the subject line. Others are revealed in the Zohar relating to Chapter 14 Verses 19 - 21 to reveal the 72 Names. Others are yet to be revealed.

Shemot has a gematria of 776. This can be parsed into 446 + 300. 446 is the same gematria of HaEmet which translates as "The Truth". 300 is the gematria of the Shin which has the essence of "passion". Thus Shemot can be translated as "Passion for the Truth". There is a deeper meaning to this gematria. It relates to the gematria of 300. I am leaving this up to the students of Kabbalah to reveal this to each one - themselves.

The first word in the Parasha is Vayeleh - ואלה. This word translates as "and these are". Through the gematria another Name of the Creator is revealed. The gematria is 42. All true students of the Kabbalah know that the gematria 42 refers to the Ana Bekoach - The 42 Letter Name of HaShem used to create the physical world.

When translated the first 2 words hint to a tremendous secret of the Kabbalah. The 2 words translate as "Names of 42". Do you see the secret? The secret is that their are different 42 Letter Names used to create each of the 4 Worlds. Atzilut - Briah - Yetzirah - Asiyah. The Ana Bekoach is used to create the World of Asiyah. The Torah which represents the world of Yetzirah has concealed within it the 42 Letter Name that Creates the World of Yetzirah. Want to know what it is? Study the basic Classes that are revealed on the "Revealed Wisdom" page of the Yeshshem website.

Know also that there is a 6 week period revealed in the Hebrew Calendar that starts today the 16th of January 2017. This period is called Shovvavim - שובבים. This word translates as "mischievous child." This period is a designed by the Creator and His Mercy to allow us a period to do Teshuvah on Sexual mistakes and similar issues. Learn more on the yeshshem website by doing a local search for Shovvavim.

The number of Verses in the Parasha
